AITA for sleeping with my best friend’s estranged younger brother?
Throwaway account because just in case my friends find this.
I (25M) have known my best friend (25M) (i’ll call him BFF) since we were in primary school. His family life is not the best and he moved in with me when we were in secondary. We are very close and are basically brothers in everything but blood.
So about 3 months ago, my new job had a work party and some of my colleagues (who also used to go to our school) invited BFF’s brother (23M) along. BFF has not spoken to his brother since he ran away to my house.
I hit it off with BFF’s brother and one thing led to another and now I think we’re dating?? We haven’t really talked about it but we kiss a lot and I don’t want to ruin it by asking him what we are. The only thing he asked me to do was to not tell his brother or our friends that we’re seeing each other.
I want to respect his wishes but the guilt is eating me alive and I feel like the worst person. I want to tell BFF about this but what do I even say - hi the brother that is dead to you is actually in the country and we sometimes sleep together??? All my colleagues know because they're all busybodies who cannot keep their noses out of anything.
I don't even think that BFF knows his brother got out of the family at all. They left on really bad terms and they really don’t want to see each other again. I don’t know how long more I can keep this secret and it will ruin everything if I spill.
I can’t even talk to any of my friends about this. Oh god this is going to blow up in my face.
I feel so guilty but I don’t know if I’m the asshole here? I’m definitely going to hurt someone - I just want to make both of them happy and I don’t know how. I don’t want to lose either of them.

NTA! But you all need therapy. You seem like you really care for your best friend and (maybe) boyfriend but it doesnt sound like you can keep them apart for long. Something is going to have to give.

Please dont call him an asshole, hes trying his best and there's just a lot of hurt involved especially with their history. EDIT: i also dont know if he is my boyfriend
