Summary
The voices began at night; trickling into Alastor’s mind as he lay awake listening to the sound of his father's drunken fury while he hid beneath the covers in his room. It had never crossed his mind until then to kill him; but when a gun is placed in his hands on one fateful hunting trip, the choice is made for him: One shot and blood on his hands for freedom.
Alastor and his mother can now finally turn a new page and leave the horror behind; but years later, when a robbery gone wrong ends with a body in the street, Alastor's bloodlust takes hold, marking the start of a bloody chapter in New Orleans' history led by the rise of it's most brutal and elusive serial killer yet.
Bodies begin to pile up, sending the city into states of terror that serve as stepping stones in Alastor's climb to the top as New Orleans' most popular radio host. By day, he is the voice that ensnares them over the airwaves with reports of the macabre, but by night, he's the one painting the streets in blood.
This newfound fame allows him to walk straight into the midst of the city's glamorous, sinful elite; but, just when he reaches the top, a murder he didn’t commit shatters his perfect game, and Alastor finds himself spiraling.
