don’t blame me, love made me crazy

Summary:

“Someone called in a complaint because people were having sex in a restaurant parking lot. See, I was like oh who would be stupid enough to have car sex in a public area but of course, I should’ve known it would be one of mine, because it’s always one of mine.” Athena says sternly. “I did not expect it to be TWO of mine. TWO ! Eddie you’re a father ! You’re not supposed to be caught with your hand down someone’s pants !”

***
Buck and Eddie are absolute IDIOTS together and people are exasperated.

Notes:

title don’t blame me - Taylor Swift.

Work Text:

“So…” Buck trails off, a little wide-eyed while staring at the ceiling of Eddie’s bedroom. “We did that.”

“Yup.” Eddie says sounding out of breath. “We did.”

“It was really really good though.” Buck huffs out a laugh, daring a glance at Eddie who’s looking back with an incredulous look.

“Are you kidding me ? Best sex of my life.” Eddie laughs and it loosens a knot in Buck’s stomach. “Oh my god, where did you even learn how to do that ?”

Buck winks. “I was a ranch hand in Montana. I know how to ride.”

Eddie cackles, a bright sound that Buck rarely gets to hear and he loves this version of Eddie. The unashamed, real, vulnerable Eddie. The afterglow Eddie, with his hair out of place, his chest still flushed and sweat dripping down his abs.

He doesn’t even know how it happened. One second they were at the bar with all of their friends, next they were making out in the back of an Uber and stumbling back into the house with wandering hands.

“Are we doing this for real ?” Buck asks, a little scared that Eddie might say no. He could handle going back to friends after this, but it would be very hard to forget he knows the way Eddie sounds when he comes.

Eddie’s lips curl into a smile as he reaches a hand that traces the shape of his lips with his thumb. “Yeah, baby, we’re doing this for real.” He says, and Buck loses his breath all at once.

“That’s—that’s good.” Buck says dumbly, and Eddie’s grin turns fonder as he leans in and replaces his thumb with his lips. Buck moans when he tastes his own come in his mouth, and brings him over so Eddie’s straddling his hips. He lets his hands wander on the expanse of Eddie’s warm back, licking into his mouth. “How about round two ?”

“You read my mind, Buckley.” Eddie breathes on his lips, making him giggle like the smitten dumbass he is.

“I hate men !” Ravi exclaims as he sits down on the kitchen counter.

“Me too but please say more.” Hen says, letting her cup of coffee down.

“Okay so I went on this date last night. First of all, he said he was 6’4 on his Tinder profile, and ended up being shorter than me. I mean I don’t care if he’s 5’8 just… why lie ? You know.”

“Because people are shallow like that.” Eddie shrugs, his shirt riding up slightly and distracting Buck who startles when Ravi speaks up again.

“He was 30 minutes late too, of course. Then, spent the entire date talking about himself !” Ravi continues, looking more and more angry as he rants. “Then, he called me…” Ravi grimaces. “Exotic.”

Buck winces, Hen hisses and Eddie makes his judgmental face Buck adores.

“Then, of course, because I haven’t had sex in a long time, I went home with him which— I know.” He says as Hen opens her mouth. “Big mistake. Huge.”

“You quoting Pretty Woman ?” Eddie asks, amused.

“Well yeah because brace yourself, he…” Ravi pauses. “He called me babygirl during sex.”

Buck’s mouth drops open in shock. Wow. That’s…

“Who called you babygirl during sex ?” Chimney asks, coming into the kitchen.

“His awful date.” Eddie supplies, brows slightly furrowed. “The psychological issues that go behind calling a grown man babygirl are...” He shakes his head, in disbelief.

“Right ? Is it a straight guy thing ?” Ravi asks.

“Uh no. Never called a woman that.” Chimney pulls a face. “That’s what I call my daughter.”

“Yeah that’s what I call Jee too.” Buck chimes in, very perturbed. “So… he just called you babygirl ? Without asking first if you would be into it ?” Ravi nods. “But like… were you calling him Daddy or something ?”

“Nope.” Ravi blushes as Hen laughs.

“Why do I feel like you call men Daddy ?” She asks Buck who rolls his eyes.

“I don’t actually. I have been called Daddy though. I don’t really like it but eh, if my partner really wants it I’m willing to go with it.” He shrugs. Eddie’s head whirls to stare at him in surprise. They haven’t discussed past sexual relationships yet so maybe it is a surprise to Eddie that Buck has been with men before. “Anyways, he shouldn’t have just sprung a kink on you without discussing it beforehand. Especially a weird one.”

“Yeah ! It was weird.” Ravi sighs, running a hand through his hair. “I’m never dating again, men suck.”

“Or maybe, don’t meet men on Tinder ?” Eddie suggests with a crooked smile. Ravi glares at him.

“Excuse me, I don’t need this kind of advice. When was the last time you even had sex ?”

“Two days ago.” Eddie replies, as every eye snaps to stare at him. Even Bobby and Lucy who were both pretending not to be involved in the conversation look up. Even Buck who was the one to sleep with him is shocked he admitted it.

“What ?” Hen asks, eyes wide. “With who ? How was it ? Are you dating him ?”

Eddie simply smirks. “None of your business, good and yes.”

“That’s all you have to say ?” She presses, with now a bright smile. “C’mon details.”

Eddie’s looking at him for support and Buck raises his eyebrows, not knowing what to say without incriminating himself.

They’ve decided to keep it quiet, just for a few weeks until they’re more settled into the relationship. No one knows, it’s barely been two days and they had one single date that included Chris who definitely did not know it was a date. It’s also Buck’s first relationship since Taylor and Eddie’s first relationship since he came out over the summer and since they’re actually serious about this, they want to take things slow.

Eddie purses his lips. “Um… it was good. Great sex.”

Hen raises a single eyebrow. “I meant more about the dating part. Like how you met him.”

“Oh, that makes sense.” Eddie blinks, looking sheepish. “Uh well it’s… um…”

“You didn’t meet him doing something weird, right ?” Chimney questions, suddenly suspicious.

“No.” Eddie rolls his eyes. “I um… it’s going great.”

Buck wants to smack him for being so terrible at this.

Hen turns to him. “Buck have you met him ?”

“W-why would I meet him ?” He stammers, feeling caught.

She raises an eyebrow, hands on her hips. “Because you and Eddie live in each other’s pockets ?”

The alarm saves him from the questioning and he sighs of relief, quite literally saved by the bell.

Buck’s phone rings as he’s picking out a shirt for his first date. He’s been waiting for this one for days, because it’s been a minute since they had any free time with work and Christopher. He’s mostly spent his time at the Diaz house with Eddie though, it’s not like he misses him but they had no alone time except for at night where they were both too tired to do anything except talk and makeout. So this date is very important and dear to him.

He frowns as he sees the caller ID and picks up immediately, his heart-rate quickening. “Hey Chris what’s wrong ?”

“Buck, I think Dad is dating.” Christopher’s very serious voice says into the phone and Buck has trouble biting back a laugh.

“Um w-why would you think that, bud ?”

“He’s leaving me with Pepa, and he’s dressed nice.”

“How nice ?”

“He’s wearing his dark blue shirt.”

Buck loves that one. “Okay, so… is that a bad thing if your dad is dating ?”

He’s scared of Christopher’s reaction to be honest, because the last time he was upset, he wanted Buck, and now if he’s upset because of Buck, he has no one to turn to and he hates that.

“Yes ! He’s not supposed to be dating, Buck ! I thought you were finally going to be together !”

Oh. He quickly types out a text to Eddie.

Go to Christopher’s room, he’s calling me.

“Oh buddy, I—”

“What’s going on ?” Eddie asks, sounding confused.

“Christopher put me on speaker.”

“But Buck—”

“Trust me, Chris.”

Christopher blows out a breath. “Fine. Here, you’re on speaker.”

“Christopher is upset you’re going on a date because he thinks you and I should date each other.” Buck can’t help the chuckle that spills out of his mouth and he hears Eddie laughing on the other side too.

“I get it, you think it’s funny, no need to be mean.” Christopher grumbles in all of his 11 year-old dramatics.

“Mijo, Buck and I are dating each other.”

“Well now I feel dumb.” Christopher says, making the three of them burst out laughing. “You really are ?”

“Yeah, we are.” Buck smiles, knowing they can’t even see it, which he is grateful for because it’s a little moony. “Now can I get dressed or do you have anything else you want to discuss ?”

“No. Have fun on your date, Buck.”

“Thanks, kid. Love you.”

“Love you too.”

***

“I love you.” Eddie blurts out as Buck freezes, the bite of his chocolate fondant still in his mouth.

He swallows quickly, washing it down with his wine as Eddie looks nervous, almost fidgety. Of course he does, it’s the first time he’s ever said it out loud.

“I love you too.” Buck replies as soon as he can, not able to contain the words much longer because of course he loves him, he loves him so much, he’s so freaking in love with Eddie Diaz and Eddie cracks a grin that might be Buck’s favorite smile yet. “Want to get out of here ?”

“Yes please.” Eddie laughs, waving at their waiter for the check.

They get out of the restaurant as quick as they can and by the time they made it to the parking lot, Buck can’t take it anymore. He cages Eddie against the truck and joins their lips together.

Eddie moans as Buck slips his tongue inside, letting his hands wander down his back to squeeze his round ass.

“Baby, we’re in public.” Eddie breathes on his lips, as Buck grins and captures his mouth again in a heated kiss.

He reaches into Eddie’s front pocket for the keys and unlocks the car without detaching from Eddie. He opens the car-door and lays Eddie down the backseat, blanketing him with his body as they keep kissing.

Eddie laughs as Buck starts kissing down his neck, his tongue swirling around the skin as his hands try to undo Eddie’s navy shirt he’s been dreaming about taking off all night.

“Wait wait, how about we close the door and take a better position for this ? ” Eddie suggests, and Buck whines but detaches from him slightly to close the car-door, and let Eddie settle in, half-sitting.

Buck crawls over his lap as Eddie’s fingers are busy with Buck’s zipper. Buck rolls his hips, their clothes cocks brushing through the fabric and making them moan in unison. He keeps a steady rhythm as he manages to finally take Eddie’s shirt off and Eddie manages to slip his hand down his pants.

Buck moans as soon as his feels Eddie’s hand pumping him up and down clumsily. He leans down for another open-mouthed kiss when someone knocks on their window and startles them apart.

Buck shrieks when he sees Athena Grant of all people standing on the other side of the window, wearing her patented upset with Buck look.

“Oh my god.” Eddie groans, hiding his face in Buck’s shoulder as Buck reaches to roll down the window, absolutely humiliated.

“Hi ‘Thena.” He tries, sheepish.

“I am… very sorry.” Eddie says, bright red.

“Go home before I arrest you both for public indecency.” She says, and it doesn’t take long for Buck to zip his pants up, hop off Eddie’s lap and slide over outside, to Athena who’s still staring at them in disapproval.

“Hey I was wondering if you could—”

“Keep your secret ?” She finishes, the corner of her mouth tugging upwards. He nods, bracing himself for her to laugh in his face. “Yes. I’ll keep your secret but as soon as you tell people, I’m telling them how I found out.”

“Fair enough.” Buck presses his lips together, going over to the driver’s side because he always drives, even when it’s Eddie’s truck. “Um… so… good night ?”

“Go away before I cuff you.” She grumbles, and he gets inside quickly. “Be safe !”

“We will, thanks ‘Thena, love you !” Buck shouts as Eddie sits in the passenger side, still completely red in the face. “We will never live that down.”

“This is the most embarrassed I’ve ever been.” Eddie squeaks, dropping his face to his hands.

***

The thing is, Buck doesn’t know why they’re so chaotic together. Maybe it’s because they’re both so happy and having so much fun together or maybe they’re having an early midlife crisis but either way, he kind of loves that side of their relationship. He loves hearing Eddie’s giggles and he loves feeling like there’s still a thrill in the relationship despite quite literally being an old married couple — Chris’ words not his.

Their relationship is safe and comfortable, but still the most fun he’s ever had with someone and he absolutely adores it.

Which is why, he’s currently laid on the couch after eating the most spring rolls he’s ever eaten.

“Oh god, I ate way too much.” Buck whines, his stomach weighing him down painfully. “I swear I won’t be bottoming for like 2 weeks.”

“Ugh you’re going to fart a lot tonight, aren’t you ?” Eddie groans, pulling a face when Buck’s stomach grumbles.

“Oh yeah definitely.” Buck grimaces, laying his head down on Eddie’s shoulder. Eddie slips his hand inside of his shirt, rubbing on his stomach soothingly and Buck just about melts. “Are you rubbing on my achy tummy ?”

Eddie huffs out a small laugh. “I am, yeah.” Buck smiles, letting Eddie massage his abdomen gently. “It’s cute, you have a little belly.” Eddie smirks, leaning down and kissing it gently. Buck laughs, swatting at him.

“You won’t find it as cute when I’ll be stinking up the bedroom.”

“Don’t remind me of that.” Eddie whines, settling with his head on Buck’s lap. “I’m so tired.”

“Me too.” Buck sighs, running a hand through Eddie’s brown hair and massaging his scalp the way he likes it. “That shift was really something.”

“C’mon fart boy, we better get to bed before we pass out here and Chris judges us again for saying our backs hurt.”

“What did you just call me ?” Buck laughs, smacking Eddie in the face with the pillow behind him.

“Oh you little motherfucker.” Eddie hisses, smacking Buck back three times.

“Hey !” Buck protests, rolling over so he can pin Eddie down the couch by the wrists. “I did it once !”

“Yeah I don’t get even, I get revenge.” Eddie smirks, wrapping his legs around Buck’s waist and using the momentum to switch them except he miscalculates and the both of them end up rolling off the couch and right into the floor.

“Ouch.” Buck whispers, face down, Eddie’s entire body plastered to his back. “You’re heavy, get off.”

“You calling me fat now ?” Eddie shoots back, kicking him in the shins.

“Stop hitting me, you idiot !” Buck rolls them over again, straddling Eddie’s hips as he looks down at his beautiful smile and just melts, leaning in to kiss him just because.

“I love you.” Eddie whispers against his lips and yeah, Buck really really loves him too.

***

“So where are we going ?” Eddie asks as Buck spares him a glance from his laser-focus on the road.

“Brunch.” Buck replies, dropping one hand to Eddie’s thigh because it will get him to complain less about LA people stuff like brunch. “You look beautiful today.”

He sees Eddie blushing out of the corner of his eye and smirks.

“Thanks. You look good too.” Eddie says, his gaze warm as he takes in Buck’s outfit. “I’ve missed you last night.”

“Yeah I’ve missed you too.” Buck smiles, holding his hand up until Eddie intertwines their fingers together. He was at the loft so he can have Maddie over for Buckley siblings night and he can’t say he has missed sleeping alone because he kept trying to find Eddie’s warmth all night.

He hates it when they sleep apart, which is why he suggested they go out to make up for the lost time.

He pulls up next to the restaurant and keeps holding Eddie’s hand as they walk in and get a table.

“Bottomless champagne !” Eddie exclaims excitedly as soon as he sees the menu.

***

“Ooooh there he is ! Our baby !” Eddie exclaims pointing to… oooh Christopher. Buck loves Christopher so much.

“He’s so beautiful, Eds.” He says, getting a little choked up. He’s so grown too. Middle school. So big.

“Are you on drugs ?” Christopher asks, suspiciously.

No.” Buck would NEVER take drugs. They suck and they make Eddie cry.

“You’re drunk, aren’t you ?” Christopher asks then, something like resignation in his features.

“A teeny tiny bit.” Buck says sheepishly.

“Yeah kinda.” Eddie says at the same time. Christopher sends them an unimpressed look that makes Buck feel like a scolded child. “There was bottomless champagne which is very funny considering that—”

“Sshhh there are children here, babe !” Buck hisses, pressing his index to Eddie’s lips.

“Oh yeah I forgot. How was school, buddy ?” Eddie claps him on the back gently.

“You didn’t drive here, did you ?” Christopher asks instead of answering, squinting at Eddie.

“No we took an uber.” Buck snorts. “His name was Bruno.” That was so funny they sang all the way to the school. Bruno did not find it so funny.

“But we don’t talk about Bruno, no, no, no.” Eddie sings, as Christopher sighs, fishing his phone out of his pocket. “Who you callin’ ?”

“Bobby.” Christopher says sternly. “Hey Bobby. I’m okay. They just came to pick me up drunk. Yeah. Both of them. Thanks. Bye.” He hangs up and fixes them with a hard stare that has Buck straightening his spine. “Bobby is coming to take us home.”

“I love Bobby.” Eddie muses with a smile. “So nice.”

“I know right !” Buck beams. “He’s the best. Hi !” He waves at some parent he recognizes as she sends him a weird look. “When’s Bobby coming ?”

“Twenty minutes.”

Wow that’s so long. “Oh. Hey wanna play a game ?” He asks Christopher. They love playing games to pass time.

“I really don’t.” Christopher says and Buck feels his heart break. Why won’t his best friend play with him ?

“Booooo. Why aren’t you havin’ fun ?” Eddie asks, pouting. “You should have more fun, kid. You’re too young to be serious.”

“And you’re too old to be drunk at 4 p.m.” Christopher shoots back.

“He got us there.” Buck says, pinching his nose. “Eddie, are we old ?”

“Noooooooo. We’re young. Right Chris ? We’re young. So young. Babies.” Eddie holds a finger up, making Buck nod in agreement.

“You’re old.” Christopher deadpans making Buck gasp in affront, hand clutching his chest. Old ? He’s not old ! He’s 30 ! It’s so young !

“Betrayal ! From my own son !” Eddie exclaims, a hand on his chest.

“Hurts.” Buck says, shaking his head. “Forever young I wanna be forever young. Do you really wanna live forever ? Forever. Forever young.”

“You’re embarrassing me in front of everyone I know.” Christopher sighs, looking around them.

“Us ? No.” Eddie says, narrowing his eyes. “They’re just jealous we’re funny.”

“Yeah as Beyoncé once said, if you got it flaunt it.” Buck says, seriously because who are they to doubt Beyoncé’s wise words.

“I think she meant more ass-wise.” Eddie says, eyebrows drawn together.

“Oh yeah, makes sense.” Buck nods. “We got that too so.” Eddie has such a nice ass. Buck loves it, he could eat it all day everyday.

“Please stop talking.” Christopher whines, and Buck closes his mouth with a click.

“Oh Mr Diaz, hi !” A blonde says, smiling at Eddie and Buck suddenly feels the urge to tell her to back-off his boyfriend.

“Don’t. They’re drunk.” Chris says, and Buck wants to kiss his forehead because he’s so cute. How can one person be so cute ?

“Just a little bit.” Buck holds his two fingers together. “Tiny bit.”

“Oh.” She says, confused. Why is she confused ?

“I called someone to pick us up, don’t worry. They’re just stupid sometimes.”

“I heard that Christopher Alejandro Diaz !” Eddie exclaims sternly, Buck hates it when he scolds Chris. Chris is such a good kid.

“You’re being so mean to us today, baby.” Buck adds, pouting.

“They never drink usually so they’re not really used to it.” Christopher says to the woman who looks highly amused by it. “Oh here’s Bobby.”

“Can you two bozos tell me why you’re drunk in the middle of the damn day ?” Bobby asks them, looking exasperated.

He always makes that face when he’s disappointed by Buck. It’s kind of funny.

“Bottomless champagne.” Eddie says with a bright grin that mesmerizes Buck. “We love you, Bobby.”

“If you puke in my car, I’m firing both of you.” Bobby menaces, holding one hand up. “Come on. Hey Chris, good day ?”

“You mean before my dads humiliated me in front of my school ? Yeah.”

“Believe me as soon as they sober up, they’ll be the humiliated ones.” Bobby laughs, and rude .

“They’re so jealous of us.” Buck whispers to Eddie who nods in approval.

“They don’t have our humor, babe.”

“Thank god.” Bobby breathes as he opens the door of his pick-up and shoves them inside.

“That’s mean Bobby.” Eddie complains, as Buck helps him put his seatbelt in the little thingy. It’s so difficult. Why is it so difficult ?

“Hey boys, how about you two take a little nap, huh ? You must be tired.” Bobby suggests and he’s right ! Buck is soooo tired.

“Oh yeah. Good idea. Night Bobby. Night Chris.”

“Night night.” Eddie whispers, dropping his head to Buck’s shoulder just before Buck closes his eyes.

***

“Oh my god.” Buck groans as soon as he opens his eyes.

“Wha’ ?” Eddie asks, head shooting up from where it was pillowed on Buck’s stomach. “What ?”

“Did we really show up drunk at Chris’ school ?” Buck whines, dropping his head back on the pillow with a thud.

Eddie makes a miserable noise. “Oh no.”

“Can we like rewind and stop ourselves from doing this ?” Buck opens one eye, squinting at the light outside.

“I’m afraid not.” A voice coming from the doorframe says. Bobby’s standing there, hands on his hips. “How’s the hangover coming in ?”

“Great.” Eddie grunts. “How mad are you ?”

“I’m not going to lecture you on trying to pick-up your middle-schooler while under the influence,” Bobby begins and Buck sighs of relief. “since the middle-schooler in question  has prepared one.” Oh shit. “How long have you been dating ?”

“Couple of weeks.” Buck waves absent-mindedly, a little stuck on the lecture they’re going to get. “We were just about to start telling people anyways.”

“Good. Better to tell them before they catch you doing something you don’t want them to catch you doing.” Bobby says, eyebrows raised.

“Yeah that’s— you’re right.” Eddie sighs, running a hand through his messy hair. “C’mon babe, we gotta get yelled at by our 11 year-old.” Buck freezes at the use of our, and Eddie notices, stopping and turning to face him with a fond look. “Ev ?”

Our ?” Buck whispers, feeling the tears overflowing his eyes at the word.

“Yeah, Evan, our son.” Eddie smiles softly, kissing his cheek.

“Yeah I think this makes the hungover worth it.” Buck sniffs, bringing Eddie in for a hug and tucking his face into his neck.

***

“Hey.” Buck hears behind him at the grocery store. He frowns, turning to the owner of the voice.  A dark-haired guy that’s a few feet away.

“Hey ?”

“Um sorry but just… you’re good-looking and I usually don’t flirt at the grocery store but—”

“Hey baby.”

Buck has trouble stifling a laugh as Eddie slips an arm around his waist, holding Buck possessively in the middle of the damn cereal aisle.

“Oh sorry, I didn’t know you were taken.” The man apologizes, and Buck feels kind of bad for him.

“No worries. Have a good day.” Buck smiles politely, as Eddie does not let go of him. “What was that ?” He turns to face his boyfriend with disbelief.

“He was flirting with you.” Eddie grumbles unhappily.

“So what, you thought I couldn’t turn him down without you staking your claim ?” Buck raises an eyebrow.

Eddie shifts, his lips brushing against the shell of Buck’s ear as he whispers, “You’re mine.”

Buck barely contains the shiver, stepping back so he can give Eddie a look. “Yeah, I am, so no need to be so jealous.”

“I wasn’t jealous.” Eddie rolls his eyes. “I just wanted him to know who you belong to.”

“Who I belong to ?” Buck repeats with amusement. “You sound like a guy from one of those sex movies.”

“Sex movies ?” Eddie scrunches up his nose. “You mean porn ?”

“No. I meant those movies like Fifty Shades.”

“So what now I’m a crazy BDSM guy just because I’m a little possessive ?”

“Yes you are, Mr Grey.” Buck says in a husky voice as Eddie groans and pulls a disgusted face.

“I hate you.”

“No you don’t.” Buck sing-songs, grabbing Eddie’s hand and bringing it to his lips so he can kiss his knuckles.

***

“Eddie, how’s it going with your boyfriend ?” Hen asks, one day as they’re hanging around the firehouse kitchen.

“Good.” Eddie smiles, meeting Buck’s eye. “Really good. Actually… we thought it was time to tell you guys.”

“Tell us what ?” Lucy frowns, tilting her head in confusion.

“Eddie and I are dating.” Buck simply says, as their jaws all drop open in the shock of it all. Except Bobby, who’s just watching with a satisfied grin.

“No !” Hen gasps, hand over her mouth. “ Buck is the great sex ?”

“Well don’t look so surprised.” Buck frowns, a little offended. “It’s like the part I’m good at.”

“Evan.” Eddie sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.

“Oh god, I forgot you’re like a shrink now. A very beautiful shrink I love very much.” He adds when he gets a glare. “Obviously.”

“Obviously.” Chimney repeats, with an amused smirk. “This is great.”

“Since when are you interested in my love life ?” Buck asks, raising a suspicious eyebrow.

“Since whoever you were going to date after Taylor, you were probably going to marry and since you have terrible taste in women, and we spend a lot of time together, I was hoping it would be Eddie.”

“Aw.” Eddie coos, beaming at Chimney. “You love me.”

Chimney sends him a sharp look, holding up a finger. “Buddy, let me tell you something real quick. You guys can’t ever breakup I don’t want some evil redhead to be my baby’s aunt, understood ?”

“Ah yes, because the only reason I’m going to marry Buck is because you, Chimney, said I have to.” Eddie rolls his eyes.

“You make it sound like a hardship.” Buck pouts as Eddie exhales through his nose, cupping his jaw, with a fond look.

“It is.” He says, making Buck whine and hit him in the chest as he laughs away and Buck hates him so much—

“Jerkface.” Buck says, childishly, because he’s beyond mature answers. “I don’t care, when you propose, I’ll say no.”

“Who says I’m proposing ?” Eddie says with the hint of a smirk curling his mouth upwards.

“I am not proposing.” Buck says firmly.

“Why not ?” It’s Eddie’s turn to pout.

“Because I want to look you in the eye while you’re on one knee in front of me and say no just to get you back for being an asshole.”

Eddie barks out a laugh, wrapping an arm around his shoulders and kissing his temple before releasing him way too soon. “Dumbass.”

“Moron.”

“Pendejo.”

“Cabron.”

“Okay enough !” Bobby erupts, looking exasperated. “What are you, five ?”

“He is.” Buck mumbles, getting a stern look from Bobby that makes him duck his head down. “Sorry, Cap.”

“How about sorry Eddie ?” Eddie chimes in, and Buck glares at him.

“You know what Diaz ? You’re sleeping on the couch tonight !” Buck hisses, feigning irritation. “You’re getting on my last fucking nerves.”

Everyone sends him weirded out, worried looks, like they’re concerned he’s actually upset but Eddie just grins and Buck grins back, just as teasing and soft.

“Now, who would cuddle you ?”

“I’ll call that guy from the—”

“Okay that is really not funny.” Eddie cuts him off, eyes flashing dark like a warning, and Buck goes for the kill.

“But baby, I need a replacement for you when I murder you for being a little shit, you can’t just expect me to raise Christopher all on my own.” Buck says, barely managing to bite back his smile as he flutters his eyelashes. Ravi laughs on his right, and Buck winks at him.

Eddie’s face makes something complicated as he takes ahold of Buck’s waist, his fingers digging into his skin exactly where he left his mark on him the other night. Buck squirms and Eddie laughs. “That’s what I thought.”

Buck flicks him on the nose ever so gently as Eddie keeps his dark eyes trained on him. “Possessive bastard.”

“Teasing brat.”

“Oh my god, do you ever stop bickering ?” Hen exclaims, hands thrown in the air. “This is so much worse than before ! Do you just call each other names all day long at home ?”

Buck can’t contain the cackle that slips out of his mouth because yeah. They kinda do. Half the time. The other half they are gross and sweet and cuddly but that’s just for them to know.

Notes:

Eddie : Buck will you marry me ?
Buck : No.
Maddie : Oh my god why would he say no ?
Eddie : *slips the ring on Buck’s finger and kisses him anyways.*
