Summary
Dr. Robby’s truck was somehow both fancy and run-down. Dennis thought back to the car his family had when he was younger. Piling in with his brothers in the back of a truck, balanced extremely precariously on the makeshift benches made of disassembled wood palettes. Having to squish between Junior and Patrick while Anthony grabbed his ankles so he wouldn’t fly right out — not that they wouldn’t pretend to let go of him, just to hear him scream. Driving down gravel roads to a steepled church, where he’d have to stand on his tip-toes to see over the pew in front of him.
What he wouldn’t give to smell that old building again. The damp, dusty odor was unpleasant when he attended regularly, but now… he kind of missed it.
“You getting in?” Robby raised an eyebrow, slinging Dennis’s suitcase into the back. He closed the bed door, waiting.
“Oh, yeah. Yeah, sorry.”

Grian rubbed slow, worrying circles into the neatly folded clothes in his lap. A soft, blue t-shirt and black jeans, a couple of sweatbands, and black suspenders piled on top. And a pair of headphones.
A scoff, “Come on, Gree-on.” Sam uncrosses his arm, reaching pointedly to the inside pocket of his jacket. “I would really feel much more comfortable with my best friend around. It would be… less awkward for me.”

Summary
Mori had done it with the windows open. The entire city of Yokohama could see him do it if anyone had their eyes upon the tall building. Maybe the windows were too high up to be seen from the street, and perhaps the glass was stained with colours that made it difficult to see in or out, but it didn’t matter. It was a power move. A ploy designed to showcase Mori’s power. His power over the Port Mafia, at least. He spoke about the boss’s- previous boss’s illness. How he succumbed to his fever, his last words dictating Mori to be the new head of the Port Mafia.
“You’re the witness to that fact. Understood?”

So it was nice to text with a man, even if it was anonymous. Anonymity had been the stipulation from the start. (As well as: "Actual words. No Gen Z speak.") Dennis went by DJ. Childhood nickname, no one here knew that. The professor went by M. Dennis liked to call him professor. It was flattering to think he got the attention of someone successful and important.

Summary
Everything is falling apart, and Langdon swears it isn't his fault. He's going through a rough patch, sure, but that's no reason for Robby to just abandon him for fresh meat. He can play those games too. He just needs to show Robby that he's worth more than that rat catcher is.
Robby is trying to heal. He really is. He's never been someone who's chased stability and routine, but with Whitaker, he feels different. Dennis is the difference between romance and lust. He wants to settle, and he wants to do so with Dennis; he just has to make that clear to Langdon—the most stubborn person on earth.
It's jarring to go from being completely ignored and ostracized in a large family to being the center of attention, especially when feelings are involved. Dennis knows it's sinful, but it can't be that bad when it feels so good. He is just trying not to lose his mind over the two men fighting over him—or at least he thinks it's over him.

Robby has gone from barely being able to watch to not wanting to even blink. He can’t keep his eyes from darting down to where Whitaker’s thighs grip the saddle, how he slides forwards on it with every downward bow of the bull and back as it pushes up. Again and again and again, he rolls with the mechanical bull with a single circular fluid motion.
It crosses his mind that this might be one of the hottest things he’s ever seen. He doesn’t even try to unpack that thought, it doesn’t even feel like an opinion he can change. It’s just a fact. Whitaker on the mechanical bull is one of the hottest things he’s ever seen.
