Ranpo tried to smile, but he was getting agitated, now. He just wanted Dazai to be happy. To be the one to make him happy. “I mean, I’m fine so it’s okay—”
Dazai interrupted him again, turning around. He was upset, now, and more then a little mad. “No, it’s not okay. Not when I feel like I’m going to go batshit fucking crazy, thinking you’ve hurt yourself.“

“You’re so, so, so pretty,” Dazai slurred, hand cupping Ranpo’s face. He’d been like this for the past ten minutes, alcohol turning him into the world’s biggest sap. “Like, super pretty.”
Ranpo giggled, gently moving the whiskey bottle out of reach. “So you’ve told me.”
Dazai shook his head, motions slow and awkward as he held him close. “No, you’re, like… so, so gorgeous. Like- like a sunset.”

Ribcage had always been a funny word to Ranpo. Cage implied there was something it was locking in, keeping the heart and lungs in place in fear of them escaping. He’s read some of Poe’s darker books, ones where the main character tears apart his lover’s chest to watch the horrifyingly beautiful pulsing of their heart. Ranpo always wondered what it was like. Never like this, though. He could see Dazai’s ribs now, and it was awful.
Or, Dazai gets injured on a mission and it's up to Ranpo to keep him alive.

“Did you know penguins mate for life?” Langa blurts out. “And during courtship, males present females with the smoothest pebble they can find. Because they build their nest out of rocks.”
For a moment, there’s no response, just the wind in Langa’s ears and Reki blinking at him, and Langa seriously considers throwing himself over the ship. And then Reki breaks out into a huge grin, all teeth, and Langa breathes a sigh of relief.
“Awww, really?” Reki asks brightly, his hair flopping in his face. He pushes it back with a bandaged hand. “That’s so cute. Hey, wait a second, why do penguins have a better love life than me?”

Sigma looked up, his eyes widening slightly at the object Chuuya held up.
Sleeping pills. So Dazai had taken the sleeping pills. He was supposed to, but they never worked this well…
Damn it. God damn it.
Or, Dazai accidentally takes too many pills, sending Sigma and Chuuya into a spiral of fear for their lover. They knew the other was doing better, but with Chuuya’s fear of almost losing both of them one before, he can only fear the worse when Sigma calls him druing about Dazai’s rough condition.
(i wrote but didn’t publish this on wattpad, also this is my first story on here so i’m still trying to figure out the mechanics of this website. )
(i don’t have a beta reader so i apologize if there are any mistakes. i tried looking through it again but with my luck i probably missed a few.)
