Summary
My head canon rewrite of An Offer From a Gentleman by Julia Quinn, melding the best parts of the book and Bridgerton tv show. This is not an attempt to predict/write Benedict's love story on the show, just an exercise in tweaking things I didn't like in the book. This is a Benedict and Sophie love story where Sophie has more agency, Benedict has more kindness, there are a lot more steamy encounters, and many more characters play a role in their coming together.
Posted as a multichapter fanfic, but it's not a fully written story start-to-finish. There are scenes and lines from the book that I want to preserve and expository bits that wouldn't be worth a rewrite, so those will be noted within the body of the chapters.

Summary
Benedict Bridgerton did not meet anyone who was simply, happily content; not even in want of the smallest of things. He knew, for much like an artist in desperate need of a muse, a nobleman's need of a mysterious suitor in the dark, nobody could be merely satisfied with all that life was predestined to provide them.
Sophie Baek, a dutiful housemaid of dubious birth, concerns more with the wants of others than her own needs that he had simply forsaken them to lead a content life.
When they meet in unexplained, unexpected circumstances, Benedict's preconceived notions of the world are challenged, as is Sophie's staunch oath of honour that she keenly lives by.
A rewriting of the third book in the Bridgerton series, An Offer From A Gentleman and equally based on the Bridgerton TV show.

Summary
Benedict is caught in a thunderstorm, and whilst wandering wounded and unconscious on his horse, is spotted in the heavy rain passing the Gunningworth farm. Sophie and her father take him in, and when he wakes from his fever, Benedict has no recollection of who he is. So whilst the Gunningworths try to find out where this wanderer has come from, he insists on working around their farm (though he definitely needs to learn a thing or two about farming). Sophie isn't too good at not falling for Ben's charm, and struggles herself to remember where it is that they have met before.
