What day is it? What year is it? How much time passed while Pomni and the others were trapped in the Circus? Is the world different to how she left it? How does one even begin to adjust, to move on with their life, after an ordeal like that? Pomni starts with her phone, obviously. It’s sitting on the table beside her hospital bed, plugged into a charger on the wall. She reaches out and flips it over – fully charged, a small crack in the screen – to find that it’s the morning of the 13th of May, 2017.
Pomni walked into the abandoned office building at 1pm on the 12th. She was carried back out at about 9pm that same evening.

Wataru is subdued. Beneath him the man is quiet, his only expression a tilt of his lips and a flutter in his eyelids. It’s stark enough contrast that Yuzuru wonders if this is yet another role or simply Truth under the mask. He doubts, in Wataru’s infinite incomprehensibles, that he will ever know.
