And that was the only reason why she felt her cheeks heat ever so slightly as Paintbrush walked onto the stage, the features of their face sharp underneath the harsh overview lighting. Their character was beautiful, at this moment, not them.
Although she must admit, Fan has wished that she had the sharp, sloping features of Paintbrush’s face many a time before. Even more so has she wished to run her fingertips against the slope of her jaw, but those thoughts are bottled up tightly and pushed to the depths of their mind.
Anything with air in it would rise to the surface of an ocean, no matter how hard you may try to stop it from doing so.
As of right now, Fan’s mind feels like a tsunami. She almost forgets her lines again.

He coughed, he wheezed.
Something came flying out of his throat, his heart sinking in his chest as if it had been stabbed through.
He looked down at the weird mucus he must have got caught in his throat. It was strangely vibrant, a bright yellow that he could see in such a stark contrast to everything else surrounding him.His eyes did not unblur, as much as he rubbed them in a vain attempt for the tears to clear. Once he finally got a small glimpse of the thing that had fallen from his lips, his heart began to race and he once again squeezed his throat, just to make sure that his pulse was still there. It thrummed underneath his fingertips, and his eyes leaked more water. His throat let out a strangled cry.
On the floor beneath him was a single daffodil petal.

Yet, to many, grief can be applied to various other situations: the loss of who you once were, the loss of goals, the loss of virtues— betraying the past and venturing forward, ignoring the shackles of sorrow that keep the personage tethered to the sensitive fibers of reality. Yanking the restraints, ripping that fabric apart, risking lives to rip the bandaid off and save a multitude of others...
Perhaps that is the true meaning of it. And Test Tube believes that experiencing those same things over and over again could be unwanted, additional weight.or; "THAT FANFIC WHERE FAN GETS BULLIED ON TUMBLR AND CREATES ONE OF THE WORST DOMINO EFFECTS EVER."

For an honest moment, they considered the idea.
"No, that’d never work,” Paintbrush mumbled, standing up and beginning to pace in the small area, keeping behind the wet floor sign. “My parents know that Marsh is dating Bow and Apple, and OJ is dating Paper… Silver would rather die and he’d probably ask me to pay him too, Cabby would get too nervous and end up as a no-show, Fan and Test Tube are good actors but they’d probably create a space-time portal in the middle of the exhibit…”

“…Alright, does someone want to tell me what the fuck is going on,” Paintbrush yelled sternly, rubbing their temples to stave off an incoming headache.
“THERE’S A DEMON! THERE’S A DEMON IN THE DORM PAINTBRUSH!” Fan screamed, pointing his lightsaber (where did he even get that?) at the floor, swinging it around and nearing throwing it several times, his grip on the handle unsteady.
Paintbrush turned their attention to the end of Fan’s lightsaber, and on the floor was a small Cellar Spider, not completely motionless but certainly not hostile.
I should’ve expected this, Paintbrush thought hopelessly, rolling their eyes. I am rooming with five-year-olds.
