One month after locking himself inside his room and sulking, he wakes up as something very much not demonic. And he has no idea what to do about it, or how to hide it from everybody without losing his own mind.
This is not what he meant when he said he wanted to be a god!
Aka. One day Vox wakes up as an Angel, without ever being redeemed, or wanting to, this obviously results in a lot of massive problems. And he suffers, a lot.

But the silence is over.
Vox is forced to realize that you can't program away your own nature. Fifty years of suppression are coming to an end, and his carefully constructed world is being torn down by none other than himself.

Summary
It seems like while Alastor was off preying on the self-destructive addictions of desperate sinners, Vox was off getting himself beaten half to death, probably from spouting belligerent nonsense at someone with violent tendencies and a far lower threshold for disrespect than Alastor. Not everyone finds poor Vox’s chatter as charming as he does.
If Vox is unconscious, then Vox is not being entertaining, and Alastor came here to have fun, not play nursemaid.
Or: Drunk on power and itching to cause some mayhem, Alastor hunts down the only person in the city who's always up for anything. Unfortunately, he finds Vox... not exactly in tip-top shape. No matter; he can work with that too.

After Vox’s failure of becoming a God, he had been reduced to nothing but just a head. It had been excruciatingly, mind-numbingly boring, and his thoughts were only getting louder by the day. He’d had wished that something would at least happen to help remedy that boredom.
Besides the Princess of Hell offering him therapy. He thinks he’d rather die all over again than ever indulge in it, but does Vox really have a say over a decree he has no power over? The answer was no, so sucking it up and pushing through it is.
OR
Vox goes to obligatory therapy at the Hazbin Hotel thanks to the worry of the Vees and the enforcement that he might be struck down by Heaven itself. He’s screwed.

He was certainly surprised, but Vox pondered the Radio winner’s words for a moment, opening his mouth once or twice to respond but changing his mind each time. After a few moments, he came up with an answer. “Maybe, and I know this is a total long shot, but maybe we could go down there, and I don’t know, fuck around a bit, say we’re there to help?”
