Summary
The good news is that Mumbo does not live in the same apartment building as him. The bad news is that Grian is head-over-heels for the man in the apartment across the hall, whom he doesn’t even know the name of. Unfortunately life is not a video game and Grian cannot randomly go up to the man, earn reputation points, and slowly woo with his charm. That’s more Scar’s department, than it is his.
So, he’s incredibly unprepared to bump into the man first thing in the morning. He is even less prepared for his hot coffee to spill all over them both.

Summary
“I think that maybe if I… pretend that I’m okay, and say that I’m okay, then eventually I’ll believe it myself.” Jimmy takes a deep breath and looks down, “I don’t know how you both like me.”
They both look at him with sad expressions. Tango reaches over and squeezes his hand, Scott cupping his cheek which forces him to look at the two.
“Jimmy, you don’t have to pretend. Not around us. None of us are really okay.”

Summary
So, overall, Joel rates the end of the world a solid two out of ten stars. Maybe it’ll bump up to a three if he manages to find an actual winter jacket. Freezing to death isn’t really how he wants to die. He’d rather go out doing something impressive, like in a fight or saving a small child from danger.
Joel also now hates every piece of apocalypse media he’s consumed. He wishes there were zombies or aliens trying to kill him, because at least he’d be entertained.

Or: the end of the world is more of an inconvenience to Joel than it is a tragedy. At least he gets a friend out of it. -

Summary
Scott kisses him.
The reasoning for the kiss had made sense in his head. Scott just kissed Jimmy’s boyfriend. Which was shitty, and sucked, and he shouldn’t have done it. But surely Jimmy couldn’t feel jealous if Scott kissed him too. Surely he couldn't be mad. Surely he would understand that really it was nothing personal, and that he hopes they both live wonderful happy lives far away from him.
These are lies. But that’s ok. It’s what he wants Jimmy to believe.

In which Jimmy and Scott used to be friends, Jimmy and Tango are together, and when Scott meets Tango, drunk in the kitchen at a New Year’s Eve party, he is a lot nicer than he expected.
