His eyes watered a bit as he tried to suppress the coughing fit that, really, he knew there wasn’t any stopping.
A fat lot of good it did him as he watched the concern in Neuvillette’s eyes grow as the coughing fit persisted, before shifting to shock when a small clump of limp lotus petals fell into his palm, dotted with a few smears of blood.
The following few seconds were tense with thick silence, the only sound in the room coming from Wriothesley, who was trying to catch his breath without agitating his throat again.
“Sorry about that,” he finally rasped, tucking the petals away in a napkin he pulled from a pocket, the motion a bit too practiced.
“How long have you been afflicted?” Neuvillette asked softly, his face scrunched in a conflicted emotion Wriothesley couldn’t quite identify.
____Another Hanahaki AU no one asked for but I love this troupe so I DID IT ANYWAYS! Most of the story is the first chapter, the second one is just the porn ;)

Following the events of the flood, Wriothesley discovers new depths of the Fortress, unseen since it’s inception. As if that wasn’t enough to deal with already, Neuvillette has been distant since Furina’s trial, the heavens raining down enough to threaten another flood.
So he investigates both things, at the same time of course. Wriothesley is nothing if not resourceful after all.

this whole story has been an amazing ride from beginning to end with great action and great characterization and neuvi & wrio relying on each other and it's just ffffff

"I...." He breathed out through his nose. At last, he decided he simply needed to say it before it utterly consumed him. So, perhaps a tad louder than he wished, he finally said, "I wish to kiss Wriothesley."
At once, there was that tightness in his chest, that heat in the pit of his stomach, that dizzying feeling in his head.
"Oh, Monsieur..." Sedene said softly, and he wasn't quite sure how to take that response.

This is a fic about Neuvillette and Wriothesley, both virgins, never having kissed anyone, never having any romantic experience at all for their own particular reasons, falling in love. And it is, more specifically, about Wriothesley's own insecurity, and needing Neuvillette to gently pull down the walls he's put up to protect himself.

“Are you ready?” The deep baritone voice trailed after him, drawing his eyes as he headed for the stairs. Neuvillette leaned against the doorway to his bedroom on the third floor, the light spilling out around him, silhouetting his beautiful figure as if to remind Wriothesley how lucky he was to have such a heavenly being in his good graces.
“More than. Am I meeting you in the bedroom afterwards? Or would you prefer to watch live?” He spun the pistol around his finger, a confident calmness coming over him, even as he felt some of his own slick start to drip down his inner thigh, following the path of the wire taped securely against his skin between the knives, guns, and other weapons he’d hidden beneath the skirt of his maid uniform.
_____Wriothesley, housekeeper and head of security at the Sovereign Estates makes the most of an evening with the master of the house, after it was unceremoniously crashed by uninvited guests with ill intent. Who ever said you couldn't take the trash out and tease your lover at the same time?

Did he need Wriothesley?
No. Neuvillette had become adept at managing his own emotions over the years. Being part of human society and being Fontaine's Iudex meant that he had to maintain perfect calm and composure. Neuvillette had always been an outsider, a foreign element to the people of Fontaine, and their trust was only maintained by his constant, firm hold on his own feelings. There was a certain expectation that he maintain a degree of distance and impartiality in order to mete out fair judgements. It was also necessary that he not buckle beneath the strain of high stress situations. Thus, technically, he did not need anyone when it came to his emotional state.
He did not need Wriothesley's company, but he yearned nonetheless.
A strange whirlwind of emotions sends Neuvillette to the Fortress of Meropide, his shoulders heavy with the burden of authority, in an attempt to find a bit of warmth and comfort.

He doesn’t think much of his own name except when Neuvillette says it — a hard-earned informal address from someone who was so insistent on calling him “Your Grace.”
“Wriothesley,” Neuvillette breathes again, nipping at Wriothesley’s earlobe.
