Summary
An essay on the subject of the Wen remnants. Who knew that they were non-combatants? Were the sects really the victims of a misinformation campaign as much of fandom argues, or did they all willingly go the Burial Mounds to massacre a group of people who they knew were innocent?
I will argue the latter. A close reading of the novel text proves that the sects were all either well aware of who the Wens under Wei Wuxian's protection were, or made an active choice not to know.

Summary
Before Wei Wuxian can say he will join Jiang Cheng and attend the Wen indoctrination, a letter describing the burning of the Cloud Recesses reaches Lotus Pier.
Realizing the danger to the Jiang sect, he decides to stay behind to help with the defenses and keep his sect safe. While he agonizes over the fate of the disciples sent as little more than hostages, he upgrades the wards of the Jiang sect to stand against the inevitable Wen army.
Lotus Pier will survive, and Wei Wuxian changes his own fate and the fate of the Sunshot Campaign.

Summary
Wei Wuxian finds a child in the woods as he sneaks more Emperor's Smile into the Cloud Recesses. Somehow, another version of himself managed to find a way to cross both dimension and time in his desperation to save A-Yuan.
Now, Wei Wuxian has a child to adopt, a bag full of inventions to distribute, and a war to avert - if possible.
(CQL!WWX finds A-Yuan after the Wen Remnant have turned themselves in to the Jin sect. Instead of going to Jinlintai after them, he makes an array to send A-Yuan away. Another world, another time. Perhaps, the child can live safely with MDZS!WWX.)
