Eddie doesn’t even get the chance to realize Buck hung up the phone before the man is bursting through his front door, making him flinch.
“Hey if you don’t want me just barging in, don’t give me a key.” Buck laughs out, jingling his keychain that has more house keys then one should ever have. It makes Eddie smile, that Buck is wanted and needed throughout their family.
“Barge in all you want, Buckley. Come on, make yourself comfy.” He says motioning for Buck to follow him to the couch.
“I can’t ‘get comfy’ until I see Chris, Eds. You should know this by now.” Buck speaks out quietly, almost hesitant in saying what he needs but the fear of something happening to Chris outweighs his fear of over stepping. Which he couldn’t do if he tried.

Eddie walks right on in, as Maddie instructed. He looks around and doesn’t see sign of anyone. Until- until he hears a voice. A voice laced with static.
“Wait Nahsy I need to get back to what I was saying. First- wait first I need to say thank you for listening to me so much, you’re the best baby listener ever of all time that a guy can have. Okay now, Eddie.”
Eddie all but drops his phone onto the counter and holds his breath. Why would Buck need to talk about him?
Or: Eddie goes to pick Buck up from Maddies house and hears him confiding in “someone new” through the baby monitor

“Uh Buck, forgetting something?” Eddie throws out in a sarcastic tone, pointing towards the kitchen island.
Buck turns around and starts walking towards Eddie cautiously, with a confused tilt to his head and furrowed eyebrows. Once he reaches Eddie he kisses him softly on the forehead, moving back to raise an eyebrow in question. Did I get it?
Eddie immediately flushes red and makes a strange noise of confusion, causing everyone else to look up. “No, Buck. You’re forgetting to-”
All Eddie is trying to do, is to tell Buck that he is about to leave his phone. The one he insisted someone text him the group's order on. The one he is going to use to pay even though he went through the effort of going down to the locker room to grab his wallet, just to come back up to the loft to say goodbye.
But he’s cut off by Buck gently grabbing his face and kissing him again. This time on the lips.
Or Buck is going out to buy a pick me up for the team and when Eddie tries to remind him to bring his phone, Buck kissed him instead.

Ravi’s plan is simple. Talk to Buck about Eddie.
Usually, he would pride himself on the fact that he keeps his work and professional life separate. Usually.
But he’s sick of it.
They’re sat at a booth in a bar, after Ravi had asked Eddie and Buck to join him after their shift. Ravi asks Eddie to go get the drinks. It’s time. It will finally happen. He will be free of his emotional turmoil for his coworkers and friends.
He makes a show of staring after Eddie, even letting out a dreamy sigh, “Isn’t he so hot?”
Buck lets out a noise and Ravi turns to him just in time to see his face scrunch and cheeks get red. His hand even clenches around his empty beer bottle.
Perfect. It’s finally happening. Buck has his jealous face on, like he gets when women flirt with Eddie on a call or at the bar, and he’s opening his mouth to speak and finally, finally it’s happening-
“You like men?”

But he wasn’t expecting it. Definitely was not expecting Chris to bring it. Not for it to happen while they’re lounging around on a Saturday, eating breakfast for lunch on the couch, while watching some man on Twitch streams himself spinning a wheel and doing whatever task it lands on.

For all the people that have left, he never imagined one could rival the feeling he was thrown in when Maddie disappeared from his life.
