----Desmond just watched at first.
It had taken days to realise where he was, or rather, when he was. Desmond was half convinced he was in a coma or a long-lasting Bleeding episode at first. But it was not the Bleeding Effect, nor did Desmond seem to be in another coma.
He was not in the Animus, but in real world Renaissance Florence.
By the time Desmond finally seemed to snap out of his daze, he stumbled upon the Piazza della Signoria where a large crowd was gathered.
He recognised this scene, though the last time he saw it, he had arrived on the opposite side of the piazza. The last time he had been watching through the eyes of Ezio.
Watching the crowd move, Desmond found himself stopping a nearby woman, “Scusi, signora, but would you happen to know today's date?”
“December 29th.”
Desmond’s eyes were wide in disbelief. “And the year?”
“1476.”
December 29th, 1476.
The day the Auditore family was executed.
—-Or Desmond proves to be increasingly impulsive and Isu Tech seems to hold a grudge against him.

Or, Shen Jiu wakes up in the middle of a familiar old shed, freaks the hell out and after confirming he’s not, in fact, dead, decides to forge his own path. He’s been enough of a punching bag the last go around, let someone else deal with the hot potato that is Cang Qiong Mountain; Shen Jiu is going on vacation! Now if only all these pesky spirits can leave him alone too...
