“Seriously,” Saturn repeated, shooting Uranus a wink. “And you know Jupiter’s the same. But come on, finish your painting! I want to see the finished product.” He finally let go of Uranus, instead pressing his elbow against his leg, leaning against a closed fist. “I’m sure it’ll be perfect as it already is.”
Uranus shook his head, biting the inside of his cheek as he dipped the paintbrush back in the yellow paint. Saturn and his infernal ability to know exactly what Uranus needed to hear… He bit back another smile and drew the paintbrush down the canvas again, painfully aware of Saturn behind him. It was like his focus was divided in two - part of him wanted to keep talking to Saturn, but the other part wanted to finish the painting - and for now, the painting was winning.

Darry doesn’t like Ponyboy. It’s never exactly been spoken out loud but Pony knows how to read between the lines and it’s clear, just as clear as the themes in Macbeth, that Darry despises his younger brother. Ponyboy didn’t want to care but he wanted Darry to be happy with him.
Maybe it would all be better if he’d been sent to a boys home because he was just a bother.
Or Darry and Ponyboy never manage to make up after the slap.
