Summary
Kirishima never thought much about romance before, never taking the time to dwell on the possibility of sharing his future with someone. He loves all his friends, cares about them fiercely, sure, but he’s never really understood the big deal; but now, as he refocuses on the dark red trapped in between the lines of his palm, he knows.
Maybe it’s the genuine hysteria that is probably written all over his face, maybe it’s Bakugou's own desperation that makes him believe Kirishima's words. “I love you, Bakugou.” Guilt corrodes faster than love, he realizes as Bakugou's eyes widen and he takes his first deep breath in months, seemingly stealing the air right out of Kirishima’s own lungs.

“--Eiji it’s fine, really, you can make this look work, what are the odds anyone will be able to pick you out with your hair down and this color anyways?! Or you can stay here and someone else can go for you and--”
“Absolutely not, I can hardly trust myself to pick the right color out anymore, how could I possibly get anyone else to get the right shade?!”
“I mean, how hard would it be to pick out the brightest red they--?” At the incredulous look he gives her while pointing to his own hair she cuts herself off, “okay fair point."

‘Do you think there’s hope for our garden yet?’ Frodo said after a content moment. Sam didn’t miss the way he said ‘our’ instead of ‘my,’ as if Bag End was theirs to share, as if anything was theirs to share.
‘Oh sure, it just needs a little lovin’’ Sam assured him, come spring and this place’ll be full of life again, I’ll make sure of it.’
Frodo looked at him with an expression he could not read, one that made him feel as if perhaps he hadn’t just been asking about the garden. But Sam was always slow to double meanings, he only hoped he’d said the right thing.
