Summary
The strange thing about Theo, Potter, was that he never saw himself the way I did. Thought he was ruined, broken, bad. But to me he was gold, always. Even when he cheated, even when he lied. Maybe especially then.
OR, the before, the during, and the aftermath of The Goldfinch, as told by Boris.

Summary

In the end I didn’t, just mumbled something, I can’t remember exactly what, and disappeared into the cool blue of the airport, expecting to never to see him again.
(Or, Theo and Boris and fifteen years after.)

Summary
I’d gotten over the initial bliss of simply seeing Boris again and was transitioning to a more familiar, Boris-fueled exasperation, but I still found myself obsessing over the mere sight of him.
