Shuichi eyes the fire siren at the front of the room, then glances back at Ouma. The ceiling is also crowded with sprinklers, a typical safety mechanic and a requirement in any building that is going to host the public for an extended period of time. He folds his arms across his chest.
“Okay, well, I heard it,” Ouma admits, “but not from down here! It wasn’t a lie!”
“So you heard it when you set it off,” Shuichi guesses.
“Right as always, detective! I mean, wrong as always! I didn’t do it! You can’t prove anything!”
Shuichi sighs. “Of course.”

He lets go immediately, all the previous gentleness disappearing with a drop of hands “—Whoops, my bad.” Jude says, stepping back, forcing a laugh that comes out a little too quick as his eyes dart anywhere but the person in front of him. “It’s like, y’know, kissing it better. Old trick.”
Sharpness blinks. Then his expression twists into a scowl, defensive and flustered all in the same breath. Jude gives a nervous exhale back, because he knows he’s definitely fucked up beyond saving; but truth be told, he doesn’t really care that he’s fucked up this time around.

inside sits a thin collar, tinted a deep, verdant green, with a bell attached to the very front. gingerly, zeal takes it out of the box with a slight shake to his hands, and runs a thumb over the soft material, breath hitching at the quiet jingle that sounds. his first name is written out in pretty font on the metal nameplate, and beside the bell, a small tag dangles. he lifts it up to take a closer look at it, an indescribable noise escaping his lips when he sees what’s written.
