‘Mark…will you let me hold you, just once?’ Jack asks, and he looks so, so weak as he mumbles his request, voice small and scared and desperate in between his quivering breaths. ‘I know you’re not him, I just…I-I never thought I’d get to see…feel him again’ he explains, stuttering over his words, eyes pleading. ‘…please?’ He whispers brokenly, eyes wet.
OR:
Jack meets Mark. Mark meets Jack. An encounter neither of them know how to handle. They do the best they can.

Joke tried so hard to be something he wasn’t, and now he’d stepped back over the line, watching his boyfriend break down across the chasm of wrongdoings he had committed.
Jack was right back then. If Joke really wanted to be forgiven, he should just try dying.
