Summary
“So- wait.” Sunrise pinched the bridge of her nose, before gesturing to Oliver and herself.
“You- you like me?”
“…I think so?” Oliver’s voice was quiet, uncharacteristically timid and anxious. Sunrise’s brows furrowed, slowly trying to work her way through the discomfort.
“So…you’re bi then?”
“No…?”
A few moments of silence passed. Her face contorted into one of bewilderment.
“…Oliver that doesn’t make sense-”

over the course of a year or so, sunrise notices the changes in her relationship between her and oliver. they slowly learn that their relationship, in a way, is more than just a close friendship.
they also learn that a romantic relationship doesn’t have to be the end-all-be-all of their own.

“H-Hey, Oliver. Sorry I-…” Her voice cut off as she winced, trying to move herself off of her friend. “I, uh…fell over?”
“Yeah, no kidding,” he huffed, albeit the malice in his voice had long disappeared as he stood back up, brushing off his clothes. “You took me down with you.”
“No, I mean…” Sundew paused, forcing a pained smile that turned into a grimace. “I…I think I hurt myself trying to do those neos.”
She gestured to her right foot, and Oliver blanched at the sight. It didn’t look right, twisted unnaturally and her shin was all bruised from what he presumed was some crazy fall.
“Did you fucking break something?”

"Forget it," Fruit waved it off, crossing his arms. He gestured over to the avian-hybrid, "Talk. Before I tell Geo you've been keeping a Yellow here for-...I don't know if I want to know for how long."
"A week and a half, I think?" Pete finished for him, Fruit covering his face in his hands.
"Oh my Void..." he groaned, voice muffled.
"Maybe a little longer?"
"Pete, he's been here since the fucking raid we pulled off?" He said incredulously, head snapping up in disbelief. Grian's wings unconsciously wrapped around him, as he turned his gaze away, a bit of guilt in his expression.
"It's, uh- kind of a long story?"
:: Fruit is unhappy. Pete tries to de-escalate the situation. Grian tries to not be worth any more trouble. Unfortunately, something else pops up that throws a wrench into their plans. ::

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

Sonic looks over at Shadow, who’s bundled next to him in Sonic’s blue fluffy blanket. His shaking has begun to cease yet Sonic can tell from the distant, spaced out look in his eyes that he’s still calming down from what had happened outside. Sonic himself wrestles to slow his own frantically beating heart, pumped up with adrenaline.
He's never seen this side of the black hedgehog before, and it scared him.
“We love, we hate, we grieve and we feel. And it’s amazing, you just have to let yourself.”
“Is this what she would have wanted?” Shadow asks softly, gazing skywards.
