Will took a moment to process the words, but all he could come up with to say in response was, "What?"
"These confessionals always sucked because I knew no matter what I said, I was being judged," Mike explained. "There wasn't someone I trusted on the other side." There was a beat where, for a second, Will was sure he could hear Mike's heart beating. "But we trust each other." It wasn't a question. Will liked that. Liked that Mike still thought of him that way. "So maybe if we just lay it all out on the line, not having to even see the other... maybe we'll get back to how things were."
"But... we already know all of each other's secrets." Will was sure his tone gave away the obvious lie.
"Not anymore."

Will and Mike are tasked with scoping out Roane Cemetery Church for clues, and the awkwardness between them can't be ignored any longer. ORIGINAL SUMMARY:
The story of floor 19 of Hotel Valhalla in the 39 years between Mallory Keen's death and the start of The Sword of Summer. Told from the switching perspectives of Mallory, Halfborn, and TJ, the story will detail their lives (or lack thereof), journeys, relationships, and betrayals.
The story will mainly be told from the switching perspectives of Mallory Keen, Halfborn Gunderson, and Thomas Jefferson Jr. but there may be some special chapters from the perspective of other characters.
All rights to MCGA belong to Rick Riordan. This prequel is not meant to be canon but rather simply an exploration of what I think their lives (or lack thereof) would have been like before the events of The Sword of Summer.

Shit. Mike was really hoping that would never come up.
“I know, I know, I know it’s not your fault. But you know what?” Will steps closer, “it doesn’t change the fact that it feels like your fault.” With a shove on Mike’s shoulder, he painfully adds, “it feels like it’s all your fault.”
When everyone suddenly masters the art of communication, Mike and Will give it a shot. They don't get it right on the first try.

Summary
“He really does look like Mike,” Lucas breathes, as he gives Mike’s twin a scan, head to toe.
“Yeah, if Mike were way hotter and a knight?” Max chips in, and Will can vaguely hear Mike muttering again. “He looks so medieval, like he’s from Camelot or some shit.”
“I am Michael,” the knight begins to plead again. He turns his doe eyes back to Will, returning to his side like a diligent guard, even going as far as to reach out and take his hands. “Please, you have to believe me. I would never lie to you. Have I ever broken our oath? Let me prove it.”
Will was a bit preoccupied with gazing into the knight’s eyes, his cheeks flushing under the intense stare and the way his hands were held so gently. Mike had no issues ruining their moment.
“And he’s weirdly obsessed with Will.” Mike sounds even angrier than he did in the woods, and his sharp tone is enough for Will to snap out of his hand-holding to step a respectable distance away from the knight. “We need to send him back to wherever he came from.”
or
Mike the Brave ends up in Hawkins and sweeps Will off his feet. Mike has a lot of Feelings™ about it.
