i can't believe that this amazing fic, wonderfully crafted by someone who wasn't even familiar with thomato's dynamics, captured their essence perfectly. and yet, despite the rollercoaster of emotions it threw me into, a silly old guy saying ayato "is just a man" to the entire court of fontaine is what makes me giggle the most... simply amazing

At that, Seungmin giggles, and the sound is equivalent to a stake through Minho’s heart.
“Been there, done that,” the vampire smiles, flashing his fangs at Minho.
“Stop joking, idiot vampire,” Minho scolds. There’s a panic roaring inside him and his hands shake as they run over Seungmin’s body. “You have to help me figure out how to fix you.”
“I know you don’t heal vampires; you hunt them and you kill them. I know I’m going to die,” Seungmin pauses here to laugh again, a little hysterical. “Again. I’m going to die again. I should have died six months ago, but I didn’t and I’ve been alone ever since. I just didn’t want to die alone this time. It’s okay. I made it easy for you. There’s nothing else you can do at this point.”

Kim Seungmin is a lot of things: mid-tier romance novelist, youngest son of a chaebol family, begrudging liker of sushi restaurants. What he is not, is in love with his husband.

Even in their insanity they still had some shame left. However, now Yongbok is ovulating so there are specific time windows when they’re trying… extra hard.

Now, as a kind of mythology, Seungmin shouldn't have believed it easily. But he had seen it among people close to him, his friends, even his parents. Maybe it was a bit hard for him to believe because he himself had never felt it; his soulmate was wandering somewhere, and he hoped they were not suffering as much as he was.
Not only was it ridiculous to fall in love with someone else when he had a soulmate, but when this person also had a soulmate.

“Ever heard about knocking?” Jeongin complains, climbing out of his perch on Hyunjin's lap to sit like someone who doesn't want to be surgically attached to his partner. Hyunjin takes full offense.
“Why would I?” Seungmin shakes his keyring in front of their faces, the small Pochacco charm attached to it bouncing violently with each swing. “I have a key.”
Jeongin drapes his right arm over Hyunjin's shoulders and pulls him in while his left slithers around his torso, locking around his waist. Hyunjin forgives him immediately. “Yeah, for emergencies.”
“It is,” Seungmin says. He puts his bag down on the table and takes out his computer, then walks over to the TV stand. “I'm calling for an intervention.”
“An… intervention?” Jeongin echoes, confused. “What for?”
Jeongin and Hyunjin are so fresh into their relationship that sometimes they forget about the existence of anyone and anything that isn't them, together in their little bubble. Seungmin missed his best friend, so he came up with a solution— and a Canva presentation to support it.

“I’m tired,” is what Seungmin responds with, because apparently all his brain cells have vacated the premises.
Minho just laughs harder, before tugging the brim of Seungmin’s ugly work hat over his eyes.
