Summary
His teeth dig in and his tongue soothes, and before he knows it TK’s thighs and hips and belly are covered in little mouth-shaped marks—pink with irritation from Carlos’ beard. As Carlos seals his lips in a kiss over TK’s ribcage, undoubtedly able to taste the elevated thumping of his heart, his blunt nails dig sharper into Carlos’ scalp.
He drops his head against the silk pillowcase, and hums with pleasure as the beard scrapes tantalizingly over a peaked nipple. The ocean roars. The gulls call out to one another. TK’s mouth drops open, and his grip tightens on the back of his husband’s head, as he rasps: “Kiss me.”
Or, much to TK's delight, Carlos decides to grow out his beard on their honeymoon

“Anytime dad,” TK grins, sitting up straight as he reaches for his napkin to play with. Owen gives him a look, waiting for him to continue. “I think it’s just the fact that it’s our first Christmas together, you know? Wanting to make things perfect.”
“It won’t be, not right away,” Gabriel says, looking between TK and Carlos. His eyes stay focused on TK, as he pours himself a second cup of coffee from the pot the waitress left them with. “But it’s yours, boys. This life you’re living together. These traditions you’re going to create. They’ll take time, but all of it is yours. And that’s all that matters.”
Or, a glimpse at two different Christmases, as traditions emerge and evolve.

Summary
It's a hard pill to swallow, as that word tumbles out of his mouth. Obsession. It feels like a knife sliding between his ribs as he accepts that it's true.
"You—you really don't have to promise me that, Carlos," TK says, and Carlos feels the bulk of the weight lift off him. He can't give up on his work—on his father—completely, and he knows TK wouldn't want him to. TK wouldn't let him, he thinks; he just wants Carlos to be safe. To be awake. To be present. To be alive, in the moment. And it's where he wants to be, too.

Summary
TK takes in everything: the flex of his biceps, the way the light shifts through the window and catches in his liquid brown eyes, the delicate shadows over his beautiful face. TK swallows. He almost never saw Carlos again, a fact that hits him squarely in the chest, like a punch to the solar plexus. It feels cosmically, unimaginably wrong, and yet there’s nothing he would’ve been able to do about it.

Summary
Firefighter TK Strand and window washer Carlos Reyes first meet far above the Manhattan streets, with TK rescuing Carlos from the forty-fourth floor of the Chrysler Building before his safety line snaps. When Carlos seeks his hero out to thank him, TK is going through a nuclear-bad breakup and back living with a father who is deeply affected by 9/11. But by letting Carlos into his life, maybe it’s TK who will feel himself falling.
Or: What if Carlos was the window washer that TK saved in the Pilot? And what if Judd was with Owen on 9/11?
Sometimes, he can feel the phantom bruise of the Narcan on his thigh, the light of himself blinking chaotically before snapping back on, how he’d sobbed against his terrified dad. But that’s not all there is anymore. He can still feel Carlos clinging to him as he was lifted to safety. He can still feel Carlos inside him, from nights ago, the angle he found, the way he moved. He can feel Carlos kissing his shoulder.
And after.
He can feel the after.
Lying at the foot of the bed, spent and breathless, the weight of Carlos’ sleepy head in his naked lap, TK running his fingers through his curls.
He can feel it all.
