Dock side-steps Eira easily, movements calm and slow. It’s as if he doesn’t see them as any kind of threat and the unsaid insult leaves a foul taste in Doppel’s mouth. His grip on Glass’ wrist tightens, heart pounding in his chest so loud he’s positive the others must hear it. He has to do something but he can’t. There’s nothing he can do and he had no idea what Dock is going to but it can’t be good and-
“Don’t be so afraid,” Dock insists as if that’s at all comforting. It’s even more hilarious considering he’s currently looming over Doppel, the black eyes of his mask staring into Doppel’s soul. “I simply wish to see the lengths at which your mirroring works. I’m aware the clone can feel your pain but I wish to see if it works both ways.”
