So, he thinks nothing of Yoshida Hirofumi's invitation to go to a mixer. However, rather than getting a date, he finds the ghost of a certain girl in this new person he meets named Jane Doe who doesn't recognize him at all.
Amidst the conflicting emotion and his mundane life, Denji weighs the past and present in his already cluttered brain.

Fresh from his date with Makima, Denji finds himself torn. However, despite all of this, he still finds himself plagued by doubts. Does he have a heart? Can he love anyone? Could anyone love him?
It was just meant to be another mission for Reze, a simple undercover operation to ensnare and capture the Public Safety rookie with a devil for a heart. What she didn't expect was to find her self enjoying the mundane life of a waitress and, increasingly, the company of the boy who was meant to be her target. The flirting is still all just an act... right?
As their happy routine rapidly hurtles towards conflict, both Denji and Reze will be left at a crossroads with tough choices ahead. Though maybe it can take just one decision to change a bleak future?

Ei’s prepared to be left waiting, hanging, at the quaint, little coffee shop that she was sitting in now. The tea she had ordered earlier sits drearily in front of her, no longer warm. Maybe she shouldn’t have came as early as she did.
And it’s highly likely that she’d end up sipping her tea alone, nursing wounded expectations.
She lifts her leg over the other. The streets outside were wet, couples rushing past under shared umbrellas, and cars stopped at junctions, windows fogged up.
