Summary
Robert had never owned a home of his own. It seemed silly, really, given what a good investment a house was, and it was even sillier when he thought about it more, because his lack of home ownership had meant that Robert’s various string of so-called homes had been easily ripped from him when life went wrong, and his life inevitably always went wrong.
Robert decides to keep Annie's Field, and build himself a home of his own, and somewhere along the way, he makes some friends, develops a love for restoring grotty old furniture (Vic's words - not his) and finds his way back to Aaron.

This is a post Canon fic set 10 years after the movie
Marc is now a Sergeant in Berlin’s criminal investigation police department (KriPo), balancing a promising career and a busy dating life. Even though the one regret in his life remains, Marc believes he has moved on - or so he thought until he sees Kay again by chance on the train one morning.
Just like before, seeing Kay unravels Marc’s life. It doesn’t help that Kay seems to be doing a disappearing act.
Their paths cross when a work-related opportunity presents itself, they soon find out how much has changed and how much has remained the same between them.
The story will start with Marc's POV for the first few chapters, then Kay's POV. And a mix of both later on.

Robert’s driving, stretched out and languid even in a car, one hand on his thigh, the other on the steering wheel. “Nobody’s spoiled the surprise this time around?”
There’s a wry twist to Robert’s mouth, but Aaron feels momentarily guilty. He’s still gutted they never got to Vegas, but is sure whatever Robert’s got planned will make up for it. “Mum’s not blabbed, you know that."
Robert brushes a hand through Aaron’s hair. His eyes flick to the road as the cars inch forward a little, but looks back as soon as they’ve crawled to a stop. “Clue: a holiday destination, you love it, I think it’s tacky.”
