Summary
John is a second-year's student at Bart's, and he is assigned with a new room mate. Wonder who that could be..?
This is a gift fic for jolnnlock on Tumblr as a part of exchangelock's Holiday Exchange. Their prompt was: "You were the only one at the party/in class who did/didn’t understand my movie reference." I... kind of went there? I tried to write a party scene but I couldn't come up with a party that Sherlock would've attended voluntarily; I tried to write them in the same class but that turned out too Twilight-esque. So, instead, I came up with this. I hope you'll like this, jolnnlock, and enjoy your gift :)
I lifted the parrot idea from the Canadian TV series "Murdoch Mysteries", where in one episode they have a parrot for a witness, only it's triggered by the style of speech, not looks. They make a lot of references to Sherlock Holmes, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle makes multiple cameos in it. I whole-heartedly recommend the series.
