He's spent the past year trying his best to avoid this person, such attempts like taking a different route to work, a different route to the store, and even having to miss out on his favorite stores. One day, he swears that he'll find guy and report him.
What he doesn't know, though, is what he'll do if they find him first.

Summary
Wei Ying uses his smile and bright laughs like a folding screen, like one of Nie Huaisang's many fans, but Lan Wangji sees. He sees the network of lightning and raised skin on the boy's back, sees his smile falter with every barbed reprimand from Jiang Wanyin and the way he constantly skirts around the border of things, as if he has to constantly know the point where he is unwanted.
He looks at Wei Ying and sees a future of squandered potentials and a brightness curbed at every turn, of a life making himself less in a Sect that would always see him as a servant's son and the reflection of their own inadequacy, and he laments that Wei Ying could not seem to see that - See past the sense of debt and false belonging his so-called family had ingrained into him.
But Lan Wangji is a patient man, and he would make Wei Ying see in time. Even if it means using the insecurities of Wei Ying's own family against him.

The world of Pharloom is... a LOT different than the one of Hallownest. The currency has changed, the beliefs, the... ruler. There's no Pale King, no Dreamers, no... strings, ironically. Hornet isn't obligated to do anything anymore. Not if she doesn't want to.
Well- she might be obligated to get her siblings back to a world that actually has excess Soul for them to consume but- well. You know.

In hindsight... Hornet really should've expected her disappearance from Hallownest to cause an uproar. Not with the general public, who have all but lost their minds to disease, but- perhaps... with.. them. Her siblings.
Hollow and Ghost show up in Bone Bottom, utterly enchanted by her Bell Beast of all things. Well- understandably so.
She has no lungs by which to sigh, but by her father, is it a near thing.

The arrival of a nomadic tribe of moths changes Hallownest for the better; with their existence came their worship for the Radiance, who is now given a chance to be remembered once more. Now, the Pure Vessel has no clear purpose, and the Pale King seeks to change that. How unfortunate that he found out the Pure Vessel doesn't quite live up to their name.

They should be ready.
The thought clattered in his mind as he reluctantly uncurled from his sleeping position. It didn’t suit someone of his station- a king shouldn’t be so feeble, so anxious, especially over a plan he himself hatched.
The Pale King shuddered.
His scales itched and he desperately wished to go back to sleep. If he could avoid this dreadful responsibility for even one more day, he would be a very happy higher being. He couldn’t, of course. Too much depended on his presence, he had to be there when the eggs hatched and he had to light the way for them.
If everything worked, only his light would guide those mindless, soulless vessels to move.________________

Summary
The Pale King tries to stamp out worship of the Old Light by any means possible, and in this AU, the Moth Tribe refuses to be converted and forget their deity. So the King is forced to take...extreme measures, and the Radiance loses her beloved children. She can't forgive herself for failing to save them. So when she ends up trapped in the mind of another doomed child, she decides to extend some compassion to the Pale King's offspring.
