Shane goes to Tampa. The next morning, Troy Barrett receives a text from Ilya:

The Centaurs are, unsurprisingly, weird about it but become the best support system they could ask for as Shane and Ilya navigate the choice to fully begin their lives together and love each other out loud.

Summary
Something's wrong with Ilya and it feels like Shane is the only one who can tell.
Once he talks himself into checking on Ilya at his Boston apartment (despite a glaring lack of booty-call texts) he in short order:
(1) finds Ilya with a fever,
(2) stumbles straight into Ilya's childhood trauma,
(3) meets Svetlana, and
(4) gets acquainted with old Russian cold remedies.--
Canon-diverging Sickfic. Set during the last game Ilya plays before his father dies. Contains spoilers for The Long Game.
