Like a crack of thunder, "Yashiro Nene!" jolts Aoi from her thoughts. "What in Heaven's name did you do to your socks?!"
Along their line up, most of the girls turn to the offender-- who grimaces, quickly losing the straight-back posture she's meant to have to duck her head in shame.
Aoi can't see the socks in question without bending out of line, but she doesn't have to wait long to get an idea of them: "The violets bloomed this morning!" Yashiro Nene rushes to explain, flustered from the sounds of it. "I really wanted to get a closer look, so I did-- but I remembered what you said last time, when I scratched up my shoes from the shrubs, so I took them off and--"
"So you walked in the dirt with just your socks?" Ms. Yako shrieks.
"Yes?" squeaks Nene.
Eden Academy is an elitist institution that prides itself on being able to streamline young girls into the proper, to-be-seen-and-not-heard ladies of high class society.
When she was told that Yashiro Nene is moving into the empty side of her dorm room, Akane Aoi wasn't expecting for her whole world to turn around.

However, Inaba isn’t the sleepy town her parents thought would be best for her— its on edge with unsolved mysteries, and Shiho finds that there’s a bit more behind what meets the eye regarding some of her classmates and a TV screen.

"Wuh?" Bokuto only looks slightly perplexed, munching down on his popsicle in thought. "If we can't do it this week, we can just do it next, right?" He says, like it's the most obvious thing in the whole universe, the only possible answer. A bead of melted popsicle runs down the wooden stick, spilling across Bokuto's fingers. He awkwardly gurgles, unmelted ice still in his mouth, and he tries his best to lick the trail and proceeds to knock himself in the forehead with the ice pop.
It's. Endearing, maybe, if not completely embarrassing to watch.
Ahh, Kuroo thinks and averts his eyes. His neck is warm under the sun.
It's the hottest day of the year.
And so was the day before, and the day before that.

Hypothetical ending where everyone is as happy as possible! (Not all of them go home unscathed. Some have lasting injuries.
