L’s not-there-ness is flaring up even more, patches of transparency blotting his arms and then disappearing, and he looks—brittle, just a little bit. Like nothing at all.

Summary
He didn’t expect anything to happen but here you have it anyway, the new boy with one-fourths of a smile and a green bag and a sun-reddened back. Have it anyway, the latest new boy who wants to kill you and step into your skin just to show that your skin can be stepped into. Anyway, the golden boy who doesn’t like unpeeled apples and only sleeps with pillows wants to kill you, full stop, but not right now.
“No.” L says, but he almost says something else, and now he won’t ever.

Summary
She knows that he knows that she knows that he doesn’t love her, but it’s been 5 years, she’s had 5 years, she’s had—a childhood’s worth of home-baked bread and pocketed loose change and her parents’ love still clotted in all her loving, loving bones. The killer is gone and one day she’ll make peace with the killed bodies, but no, the killer is Light and the killed body could be her. If she’s made up of loving bones, what happens if she’s giving away the love?

Summary
He caught L and wanted to drive his thumbs into the tender-dark smear of his under-eyes just to see his victory well to the surface, glassy eyes, turn him to glass, shatter him, but he caught L, and L was looking at him. He was looking at him, and he died, and he dies, he dies.
or, it gets lonely sometimes

I reported you cause you’re annoyingLight Yagami takes his reviews on Rate My Professor very seriously. In an entirely unexpected and demented progression of events, Light spends an absurd amount of time and effort arguing with the most aggravating stranger of all time on this website. He will not sink to the level of this person and post multiple reviews or spam the page, because he respects the rules of Rate My Professor. He does not respect this stranger, because this stranger does not respect the rules of Rate My Professor.
Light Yagami thinks about murdering this stranger. He thinks of nothing other than this stranger. It is not funny. This is a serious thing. He has never been more irritated in his life. He may do something violent.

Summary
If L’s presence was comforting for nothing else, it was for the reminder that both of them were still human. Funny as that was. Light had once envied L for his apparent inhumanity, but that had been at home, on the ground, cocooned by all other life on Earth. They’d met at an observatory during the early hours of the morning. Now they were a speck in the observable universe.
*
Light and L are the last men standing on a mission to Sagittarius A*, the Milky Way’s central supermassive black hole. They do not expect to return, nor can they foresee what lies in wait beyond the event horizon.

Bookmarker's Notes
He had spit in his mouth and clammy hands and the dirt tossed over his grave smelt earthy and fresh, like a park we could have walked through together, pretending to be unaccompanied and swapping mutually plagiarized theories about the state of world affairs.

Summary
You meet him in a church. He has black eyes and thin fingers that scribble over the pages with a leaky pen. He is crossing out lines in The Holy Bible and rewriting them in his own hand. His penmanship is not very good.
