At this moment, Tommy remembered that when he was that age, he secretly wished for someone to be a parent figure. Sure, Wilbur always attempted his best to console him. But, Wilbur was supposed to be the older brother; he should not have had to deal with Phil’s responsibilities.
So, maybe, just maybe, if this was not some weird hallucination he got stuck in, Tommy would look after these past selves and give them some semblance of comfort, even if it was only for a day.
or: Tommy goes back in time to take care of himself and Wilbur when they were kids.

He knew what his family did whenever they made excuses of overtime shifts and plans with friends.
From the videos online, their mechanisms were the same regardless of what costumes or masks they wore. He recognised their styles of speech and the insults they threw at heroes. Beyond the voice modifiers, Tommy could tell.
His family were villains.
But he didn't care. Because they were his family. Even if they didn't know he knew.
So why did they continue to lie to him?

Glancing down at the fire, Tommy swallowed nervously, thinking back to a long, long while back. The first words he ever heard in Dream’s voice came back to his mind.
“I thought they wanted me.”

Looking up to see Wilbur sprinting full speed towards him causes Tommy to choke on the sob trying to worm it’s way out knowing he almost did that earlier this evening. There’s a chance this night might break him, but right now? Right now he’s watching his older brother run toward him, and he pretends like Wil’s coming to take Tommy home.
Sidestepping behind a wall Tommy whispers, “Bye, Wilby.”
And when Wilbur turns the corner?
No one is there.

Or: Tommy's cursed to travel through time, meeting new friends and family, before being forcibly ripped away from them every time. He just didn't realize that those people are as weird as he is, and love him very very much.
Or, Or: Tommy's a time traveler who somehow keeps befriending different immortals who are desperate to get their friend, brother, and son back.

“God of rage, war, and violence?” Kratos confirmed. Of course he knew he was the reason the group was named their names.
“Yes Kratos. I’m named that because you all have pissed me off.” Tommy let himself smile as he pointed towards the three and then back at him.
“What can you do to us?” Acanthis asked, Apollo glanced between the two.
“Well you see, when you mess with fire,” Tommy threw his hands down and fire flared to life below his palms, primed to be used. He saw their mouths open in either awe or shock, but it felt like a drug to Ares.
“You get burned.”

Excitement fills Tommy’s veins, and he eagerly looks towards Techno. Finally! He’ll get to see some actually good smithing from someone else other than himself on this damn server.
As Techno hands the thing over though, that excitement drains out of his veins just as quickly as it arrived, “What the fuck is this, big man? This is supposed to be the axe of fucking peace! Tommy squeezes his eyes shut tight, a pressure building in his chest. He wants to cry. He wants to go home. This was a mistake.
His communicator buzzes.
Dream: you've got sap on your left on his own and Ponk + Sam on your right. Sap isn't looking, too busy building. Sam and ponk are also easy – they're not armed.
or, since Tommy's family can't be in this MCC, his team is a little lack-luster in terms of communication and general caring about Tommy's well-being. Thank God he's got Dream's help to get him through.

Inferno’s hand lights up as sparks flicker in between his fingertips. “You don’t want this to get messy, do you?”

When Tommy gets a job at a small burger restaurant, he's expecting to deal with some unruly customers and maybe a few robberies. The last thing he's expecting is to befriend some of the most notorious villains in the country.
It really doesn't help that his family members are the top three heroes.

Wilbur and Tommy were paired together first, with Techno and Ranboo having a spar on the other side of the hall. Wilbur found the fight very enlightening, and by that he means Tommy is a little shit. Too good for someone without a belt. Though Wilbur still won, there were one too many times he almost lost. Damn Niki for teaching them so well. And every time he ended up on the floor Tommy would have some sort of quip to throw in his face. It was as if the kid had rehearsed them in front of a mirror.
