“I suppose i am boring.” Medkit reciprocates Subspace's displeasure, an amused hum leaving him. Then, he pauses, thinking carefully. “Not movies, that’s for sure.”
Subspace blinks at him. Expecting something else, and Medkit sighs. Giving it in. “Aren’t those crowded? Don’t like it.”
“Do you like anything?” He complains sourly. Does he? Medkit wasn’t sure.
“We just… Don’t have to do everything together.”

"No." Immediately tumbles from his mouth, his head shaking in denial as he stumbles backwards to place more distance between them, nearly tripping from how slippery the ground was from the rain being spat from the sky.

"No. No, this isn't — just stop. Stop. Don't say anything. I-I can't do this right now, you can't just..." He avoids his gaze like it burned him, and he pinches his nose bridge in frustration.

Summary
Another customer came into the cafe, and he greeted them as usual– until he realized who it actually was, and his heart began hammering in his chest.
Coil strolled into the cafe, that typical air of cockiness about him. He wore that shit-eating grin of his when he noticed Slingshot behind the counter– and acted surprised, as if he wasn't always the one behind the counter. Slingshot straightened up and regarded him with indifference, fighting to ignore the way his heart threatened to beat straight out of his chest and jump directly into Coil's hands.
“Hey, kitten,” he greeted with a smirk, “been awhile, hasn't it? I know you must have missed me so much.”
Slingshot's eye twitched. Just how badly he wanted to grab him by the front of his coat and shout in his face, ‘Yes, you dumbass, I did miss you!’ Unfortunately, he had to remain calm, and he certainly couldn't just up and admit he missed the inphernal who pestered him almost every day while he tried to work.

Or at least, he was supposed to be. Yet here he was, still standing in the mortal realm on his own two feet. He could still see, hear, talk— but he couldn't feel. Not as much physically, at least.
But that meant he could still be with his dearest friend, Medkit! For some reason, he was the only one who could see and hear him. No one else could.
That was the only thing that mattered, right? They were still together, just as they had always been from the beginning.

Summary
Three times Coil has failed expressing his feelings and the one time he actually succeeded.

“I like your laugh.” Coil ends up saying so suddenly. He stops himself from swinging, and his stupid sentence causes Slingshot to pause whatever he was doing. He can feel the other’s gaze on him as he dumbfoundedly can only stare at the floor. He can feel heat rising up to his face, and he tries coming up with some lie or excuse for whatever type of reply Slingshot says.
The silence dreads on for what seems like eternity before the other speaks.
“Wait- repeat that?”
“It’s like a photograph!” Coil blurts out, as calmly as he could. To strengthen his lie he ends up looking at Slingshot while pointing to whatever is in front of him. “The view! It’s real fucking nice dude. Thanks for taking me here.”

Summary
Subspace was many things to him.
A childhood friend, a co-worker, an enemy.. perhaps something else as well at some point of time that they both agreed to forget and never speak anything of again. How it all just went wrong. How it all just went oh, so wrong.
He was there to see Subspace's descent into being horrible. Insufferable. Dangerous. Their playful banter during their childhood years would turn into genuine distaste towards eachother as they went on to become co-workers— and Medkit would rather not even remind himself what happened that made them enemies.
But, despite it all.. a small, unreasonable part of him couldn't help but think if everything could have turned out another way. A small, unreasonable part of him that couldn't help but think what would have happened if he just did a few things differently.
