Summary
He'd not said anything, when they went for lunch in the museum cafe. When Izzy had looked through the sandwiches on display, discarding one after the other. Hummus in that one, horrible squishy texture against the bread. Tomato against lettuce in that one, sliminess against flaccid, stringy green.
"What about the ham and cheese?" Bonnet suggests. He's trying to be helpful, Izzy knows. It doesn't make it better. It just makes his stomach clench uncomfortably when he sees the mayonnaise dressing.
Sometimes he's okay with mayonnaise. Sometimes he can stomach it, ignore the weird tang of it as it slides across his tongue and sticks there with its aftertaste.
And sometimes he's not okay, but he'll go along with things so that Ed doesn't get mad at him, so that Stede doesn't hate him. He'll force things down his throat and keep quiet and just tolerate things, because he just has to tolerate things doesn't he?

Summary
Ed Barbanera (né Teach), nervous of flying, calls his best friend Stede Bonnet from the airport.
For twenty years.
This is a record of those conversations from the end of 2004 to early 2025.
When it begins, Ed and Stede are in their mid twenties and have been performing comedy together in Melbourne Australia, since they met at university six years earlier but recently Stede has decided to leave their sketch comedy troupe called Henry The Horse, just as they are gaining awards and offers of TV work, to settle into a more domestic life and secure work as a teacher.Bookmarked by rox712

Summary
The day they get married, the things he knows about Stede could fit on a post-it note.
First: he’s fucking rich.
Second: he needs a husband to stay that way.
Third: he is built like a brick shithouse. Pretty eyes, nice hair. Penchant for weird socks.
(Or: 5 times Ed doesn't tell his husband he loves him, and 1 time he does.)

Summary
They're on the run, post the Republic, but they're happy. They're together. They have their crew. There's nothing that Ed and Stede want, except…
In the sticky cooldown, Ed says, hesitantly, “Do we want to talk about the Izzy thing?”
“What?” Stede says, because his brain is thrumming pleasantly and it takes him a second to process Ed’s words.
Then, “No.” A quick denial, heart thudding. “What thi—“ Then stops. “No.”
“Stede.”
Stede and Ed want Izzy, but they want to do it properly. As he deserves. A 5+1 of Georgian courting rituals: Five Times Ed and Stede Court Izzy, and One Time He Courts Back.
