After a few moments, which felt like hours due to Dani’s impatience, she felt the air shift. A wind that wasn’t there before, a wind that the Zone didn’t create. As if cut by a knife the air, no, the wall of reality itself, what divided the land of the dead and the land of the living split, the cut began to grow and change, eventually forming a circle as big as Dani herself.
A smile splits Dani’s face in a similar manner to how reality just split itself.

Dani hangs out with the Batfam and semi-heals, cause I love her and she deserves to be happy.

Danny sat on the beanbag chair he kept in the corner of his room, gazing up at the star-covered ceiling. He remembered when he was younger he and his father set those fake stars up on the ceiling, well it was mostly his Dad, that’s why the stars were all so crooked, his Father was never known for being careful or detail-orientated.

Danny would like to say for the record that it was not his fault.
In fact, Danny would say that it was entirely Clockwork's fault. After all, he wouldn't even be in this situation if it wasn't for that cryptic time god.
But what was his fault was the fact that he kept helping.
He kept taking the cash from the assholes messing with the residents who lived in the area (and damn there were a lot of assholes near where he lived). He kept accepting their offers of food. So because of this new routine that kept him able to afford to rent out his shitty (and possibly illegal) apartment and the hunger pangs sufficiently satisfied, rumors grew.
tldr; after Clockwork dropped of Danny in Gotham he tries to make the best out of the situation which includes helping out some people. Except along the way that led to rumors that he was an up-and-coming crime boss. A rumor he was largely unaware of.

Strange things are going on in Gotham: A series of crimes linked only by a sentence uttered. A drug that no one seems to be selling, but lots of people are taking. An old enemy reborn, or someone pretending to be him. Graffiti that can't be photographed by normal means. Bartenders disappearing without a trace. John Constantine is also there.
Danny wants nothing to do with any of it. He just wants to sell burgers and survive. Actually, he'd like to go home again, but since that isn't possible, he'll stick with burgers.
Gotham's vigilante's have other plans.
This is why Danny doesn't do favors.

Is it running from your problems if your problems consider you to be a dead imprint of consciousness that killed their son? Yes, but Danny tries not to think about how his nightmares of his parents trying to kill him came true when they found out he was Phantom.
After being on the run from his parents and the government for a couple of months, moving from town to town, Danny ends up in Gotham City and decides to risk staying in Batman's territory. He'd take the wrath of Batman over live vivisection via beloved parents or being studied and torn apart by the government. Besides, he's not a meta. Being dead is a medical condition.
