Summary
Upon inheriting a dukedom he never desired, Sirius Black is recalled to England and to a life ruled by duty, decorum, and expectation. The estate he returns to feels less like a home than a sentence long deferred.
As society closes in around him, Sirius’s carefully honed detachment begins to falter in the presence of his new valet, Remus Lupin—quiet, observant, and wholly improper to notice at all.
Between rigid hierarchies and stolen moments of dangerous intimacy, Sirius must confront a truth he has long avoided: some attachments are far more inescapable than any title bestowed by birth.

Summary
Mostly canon-compliant Marauders-at-Hogwarts fic where each year is basically an entire book with a full plot.
Or
Strong Moonwater-centric fic where Regulus is actually the golden key that unlocks the entire universe – because why do only Padfoot and Prongs get ride-or-die besties?
Or
That one where the Marauders secretly brew Polyjuice to trade places with Remus on full moon days and help him avoid suspicion – think body-swapping with your crush trope.
Or
That one where, through a series of extenuating circumstances, Remus and Sirius have three first kisses. Because, naturally, third time's a charm, right?

Summary
Sirius studied Remus’ face. He was curious what he thought of all of this, the only one of them who didn’t have a mark– theoretically– and the only one with a muggle parent. Muggles didn’t get marks, he knew. If Remus’ parents were soulmates, then they wouldn’t know it. He wondered if there was a way to tell, though. If they could just feel it, somehow, even without the help of some magical fate.
Because it seemed like something you would just know, just from being near someone, from being close enough to them, from being in the same space. Like their souls would attract like magnets or like water droplets traveling down a window, waiting to merge until the last moment when they realized they were on the same path, and then they’d become one.
Was that fate, Sirius wondered?
He realized Remus was staring back at him, his eyes puzzled and curious and warm.
Sirius looked away first and didn’t look back, pushing down something heavy and impossible in his chest.

Summary
No, Remus Lupin did not want to go to Hogwarts to spend the next 7 years surrounded by magic and laughter and other boys. Because Remus Lupin was not like other boys. Remus Lupin was barely a boy at all. Remus was a werewolf, and werewolves did not belong at Hogwarts, despite what Dumbledore may say.
---
Remus Lupin is sorted into Ravenclaw. One year later, Regulus Black is too. The two of the form an unlikely friendship amidst the background of a brewing war. Marauders mischief (minus Remus), Werewolf issues, an ode to 70's music, Wolfstar endgame. Tags will be added as I write.

Summary
Sirius Black’s smirk is the first thing he notices. He’s gotten more confident since the last time they spoke, or maybe he’s a better actor than Remus gave him credit for.
“Feeling alright, Lupin? You look…” Black looks him up and down, bold eyebrows quirking up on his forehead, “Unwell…”
“Fine,” Remus pushes away from the wall and busies himself washing his hands. Sirius steps up to the sink next to him, watching him through the mirror.
“Everyone loses,” Sirius says. “I mean… Not us, but you won’t be the only ones to lose your first preseason game.”
“Fuck off,” Remus rolls his eyes and shakes water off of his hands.
“Sorry,” Sirius grins. “Didn’t think you’d be so sensitive.”

Summary
“I was,” Remus corrected, hitting each syllable like a nail. “Past tense. Whatever you’re trying to say about me, about us, that ended tonight.” The hand on the curtain tightened. “As of now, you and I are nothing.”
The silence that followed didn’t feel empty. It felt total. Sirius’s grip loosened. The fabric slid a few centimetres through his fingers before he caught it again, but there was no strength behind it now. The fight went out of his arms as if someone had reached inside and flipped a switch.
“But… I love you,” he said.
It came out small. For a boy who’d always worn confidence like a cloak, the words were shockingly bare. No flair, no bravado. Just a cracked confession, a final offering held out with shaking hands.
“You don’t do this to someone you love.”
—
Or after the prank, nothing is the same between the Marauders anymore: Regulus is ready to blow everything up for having left his brother in what are clearly the wrong hands (Evan and Barty in tow), Remus is a wreck, and Sirius is going down with him.
