Now Ilya Rozanov — rival, problem, the one player Shane cannot figure out on film or on ice — is standing in the driveway of the only home Shane has ever known, holding an MVP trophy like a set of keys, about to sleep down the hall.
Same roof. Same rink. Same city in Minnesota that is about to get a lot smaller.
Shane is very good at math. He just can't figure out what he's solving for.

“They’re beautiful,” Shiro says softly. He’s standing beside Keith, hands tucked into his pockets for warmth, jacket zipped up to his nose against the cold.
“Yeah,” Keith whispers. He’s not really sure why they’re speaking so quietly.
And they are. Beautiful, that is. Bursts of pink on white snow, nestled in dark green leaves. Keith’s eyes fall on a particularly dark one, deep red and intense, almost scarlet. He feels Shiro tracing his gaze.
