Had a different title for this originally but someone pointed out a typo and I changed it completely, plus it's kinda inspired by some tweet thing I saw of (IRL)Legundo responding to VLegundo starter vampire AU content.
Also not everything could fit in the tags and even the one's that do are very important to the story so please always check the notes and summary for them. This can, but isn't limited too, ships, depictions of violence not already said in the tags, and characters not being labeled as not human in tags but are labeled not human in the story. Also everyone is kind queer platonic in this, like everyone has moments that could be romantic, but not all of them are overly shippy hence not being in the tags, but I'll still mention them in the notes or summary just in case.

Summary
Martyn came to Sallow to kill a werewolf.
It was supposed to be a standard contract for the Warden’s Office. A Class-III anomaly on a remote island, and a pocketful of gold when they finished the job. For Martyn and his partner Scott, it really should have been simple. But Sallow is a place of disruptions. A place where the air smells of rotting flowers and fish keep coming up wrong. And at the center of the island’s weirdness sits Ren: a lumberjack with a warm smile and a kindness that threatens to undo everything Martyn believes in.

The darkness of sunset is only an ally to some, and the townsfolk of Oakhurst are not in that group. Trying to kill those who have turned survival into a hobby, a game to be played with those who're weaker, rarely works out. Trying to kill vampires has a lower chance of success. Maybe, one day, they'll learn. Maybe this is that day. Maybe it isn't. Who can really be sure?
Martyn does not learn.
In short; Oakhurst's no good, very bad day. Alternatively, the Castle vampires are having a good time and no one else is.

Planned in the week between episode 3 and episode 4. Anything that matches with episode 4 or beyond is incredible coincidence and I do feel like the 'it turns out that ducks and I just have very similar ideas about what ducks should do' tweet. There are also more characters than the tags suggest, but I don't want people to think they're in it a lot or they're written well. I'm only really confident in my Scott and Owen, but all of the tagged characters are plot important for this.
