‘Those’ just happened to be high heels. Shiny black ones, and from the style they must have been from Kalifa’s collection, unless Kumadori picked up a new hobby that he was welcome to keep to himself.
“Oh, Lucci! These? They’re for mobility training!” Kaku said brightly, clacking the heels against the ground for emphasis. “If I can perfect running in these then I’ll be unstoppable! The first few days were a little rough, but I’m really starting to get the hang of ‘em now...”

“A... spell?” He is careful to keep his tone light, as the last thing he wants to do is make it seem like he's making fun of No. 5's apparently very serious question. “Not to my knowledge, no... What makes you ask that?”

"Lastly, an assignment protecting the Duke of Kyuka on his vacation," Guernica says. "However, that mission is irrelevant for our top two agents. Such a simple task can be given to our newest recruits, as it is only a three-day cruise––"
Kaku perks up. "A cruise?"
In his eyes is the first glint of light Lucci has seen in them since leaving Water 7.
Even amongst the masterful deception of the other agents, Kaku was the best of them all. He blended in with the Water 7 citizens almost too well: whistling as he worked his sham of a job, expression light with joy that looked far less fake than it should've. Even when he dropped the act behind closed doors, there was still a levity to his demeanor –– a spark that extinguished the moment Nico Robin slugged a bullet into Iceburg's chest.
Given that it hasn't interfered with any of their missions, the fact that he has lost that spark should not matter. It should not matter. And yet––
"We'll take that one," Lucci says before he can stop himself.
Even Hattori gives him a weird look.
