Summary
"Jayce is a smart man. Maybe not in the ways that actually matter—he’s always been a terrible son, and he’s probably been a worse partner—but he has book smarts, at least. He has academics in the bag. And, with all of his intellect, all of his learned ways, the only plausible explanation that he can muster in his sleep-addled brain for Viktor to send such a thing to him of all people is that Viktor is sick, either physically or mentally, and that he is somehow about to die."
Jayce gets a worrying text out of the blue from his former partner and rushes to be by his side. In other words: two ridiculously stubborn men realize how silly they've both been, and come to a new understanding of themselves and each other. There is also a cat.

Summary
John wanted his voice to be trustworthy. He wanted to be trusted, as little as he deserved it. (Fucking Kayne. Fuck him and his deal.)
John wanted Arthur to trust him. He wanted to be loved.Arthur can't see Faroe's eyes anymore. In fact, he will never see her eyes again. For the time being, his own are the closest he can get, and he can't see those, either. But maybe John can help.

Summary
It didn’t matter the topic, didn’t matter that John was trying to make amends, trying to be better, wanting to be better, desperately—even going so far as to try to apologize, to really apologize, to Arthur. It didn’t fucking matter, but that was fine. That was okay. They were fucking trapped there together, and John was going to make it work for the both of them if it killed him.
John is still trying to get used to humanity, to being a part of Arthur Lester. To making mistakes and paying for them. To being John Doe.
He doesn't make it easy on himself.

Summary
(On indefinite hiatus for the time being)
Nearing the end of his long life, Bilbo Baggins is ready for another adventure. So, with his nephew and his friends by his side, he sails from the Grey Havens, ready to face whatever might come next.
It's just that he really wasn't expecting "whatever might come next" to mean that he would be sent back in time to just before the journey to Erebor.
In a world where Bilbo has already lived his life through once before, he must decide how to navigate the quest, from trying to keep his friends safe to trying to alter the course of the future to trying to manage his once-again blossoming feelings for a certain dwarf (who unfortunately no longer remembers a time when he didn't completely loathe Bilbo).

Summary
Jon isn't human anymore. He made his Choice, and he Became. It doesn't matter. It's too late. But it's not too late for him to love Martin, even if it's too late for him to ever be loved in return. Jon made himself into a Monster, and there's nothing he can do about any of it now.
Or: Jon is wrong about many, many things.

Summary
“Please don’t burn down my balcony,” Robert mutters. “It’s the only reason I rented this place.”
“So you could drink away your sorrows and topple over the railing like a sad frat boy at his first party?” Flambae retorts. “If you really wanted that experience, I could’ve dragged your sorry ass to the clubs. Or thrown you over myself.”
~
Robert has a bad night and intends to drink his thoughts and feelings away. Unlucky (or lucky) for him, Flambae stops by to check in on him.

It should've been a typical night. Robert was walking home after work, and thank god Chase had taken Beef with him that night. He really has no one to blame but himself, and his stupid hero complex.

Summary
"Robert, what the fuck is going on? Are you actually getting a new job or something?" Punch Up asked. "I get that it's none of our business, but..."
"What? No, I'm not getting a new job," Robert said, and the surprise at least sounded completely honest in his voice. He paused, and Flambae could almost feel the wheels turning in his head even across the distance as he tried to decide how much to tell them.
There was a pause.
"I wasn't going on a date. And I'm not getting another job. I was going to a funeral," he said finally.
"Oh," Mal said quietly.
"My condolences," Coop added a little louder.
"I..." Robert started and then swallowed.
"You don't have to explain," Flambae said, because yeah. Okay, this really wasn't their business, even if he wished Robert knew that he could lean on them if he needed.
"No, it's part of the job," Robert continued, though that made no fucking sense. "I was Mecha Man for... god, more than fifteen years. I had about two dozen make-a-wish kids. And I try to keep in contact, if the parents are willing."
Oh.
Oh, Jesus.
