Summary
Hyunjin thinks it must be his internal Seungmin that’s making him linger, that’s making him think that someone should do something, that Jisung is panicking and needs a helping hand. Hyunjin himself is feeling unsettled, but he knows it’s the Seungmin on his shoulder that makes him want to intervene.
Hyunjin’s mouth is synced up perfectly with his impulsivity. “Hey, Jisung!”
Jisung turns to look at Hyunjin, and an emotion adjacent to fear seems to flash in his eyes. It can’t be fear; there’s nothing about Hyunjin that should inspire any kind of fear, and definitely not in Jisung.
“Hyunjin,” Jisung says finally, his tone completely unreadable.
Hyunjin’s in this now; some of the people grouped around Jisung are also looking at him. He pastes a smile on his face as he walks towards Jisung. “What are you doing here? We were supposed to meet ten minutes ago. I thought you were ditching me.”A moment of weakness playing white knight for someone that Hyunjin's sure he hates leads to a cascading series of consequences where Hyunjin wonders if he's been getting it wrong the entire time that he's known Jisung. Sometimes all it takes is a change in perspective.

“Is there a dog flower in that book of yours, Hyunjin-ah? I’m sure our Seungminnie would like to meet his cousins, too,” Jisung says, reaching out to pinch Seungmin’s cheek.
Seungmin tries to pull away from Jisung, but he actually has a pretty strong grip on Seungmin’s face, only letting go once he’s convinced he’s done a sufficient job. Seungmin’s face aches a little in the aftermath, and he already knows Jisung did it on purpose.
“No, Jisung-ah, you’ve got it all wrong,” Changbin declares, smirking. “Any dog flower is obviously going to represent Seungmin. After all, he’s a puppy, and Hyunjinnie’s the flower. They can’t possibly have cousins in common.”
“So, are there dog flowers?” Jisung asks, eyes bright. “Hyunjin?”
Seungmin gives up on trying to stop this in its tracks. Those two are obviously only going to be satisfied once they’ve gotten this out of their systems.
Hyunjin frowns. “I—I mean, technically yes, but—”
“Seungmin-ah, we’ve found the perfect flower for you—”
