Marcus's voice cracks, and she has to turn away from Semmelweis to quickly wipe her eyes. "I…I'm glad I could talk to you about Madam Hofmann…thank you. I'll be - fine, I promise - "
"You don't have to be fine just yet," Semmelweis says quietly. "Everyone grieves at their own pace. It took me years to come to terms with………"
She trails off, and ends the sentence there. Marcus burns with curiosity, but this isn't the time or place to push - instead, she curls into Semmelweis's warmth and closes her eyes.
"Thank you," she says again, and that's the last thing she remembers before she drifts off.
