god. i've been thinking about this fic for months now. fuck, i bring it up in random conversations all the time. i crave more despite how deeply tragic it is, but deanpendragon, you evolve worlds within your stories that feel more vivid than my own dreams, i can't help but just crave more. i think no one is doing tskym like you. i hope this story haunts me forever. i feel so utterly grateful you brought back this au and we got to witness it in its full glory as it ripped our soul to pieces. FUCK.

“No way!” Hinata screeches, pulling a bit harder when his finger catches somewhere in Tadashi's hair. Albeit clumsy, it feels nice. He closes his eyes and leans his head slightly backwards to let Hinata do his thing. Fingers in his hair have always felt sort of divine. All-knowing and all-sensing. Like an angel pulling him above water he's been drowning in all this time, only to offer a brief respite. “It's so cool! Maybe you could even tie a ponytail?”
Tadashi shivers a bit at the proposition. He opens his eyes to glance down at Tsukishima, only to find him already looking back.
“Maybe,” he nods.
Or: Yamaguchi Tadashi's persisting struggle with how he (and everyone else) sees himself.
