Summary
Tex is an unremarkable long-haul space trucker with an unremarkable space truck. When she meets a hitchhiker transporting unknown cargo with nothing to offer for a ride but some help with maintenance, she takes him along because anyone else who picks him up from this station would rob him blind and maybe murder him and she’s only going to rob him myopic so she’s basically doing him a favour. This decision may turn out to be far more dangerous than she bargained for.

Summary
Blood Gulch Center for United Nations Transmission Schooling is a very normal school, by the standards of outer colonies in 2577. Boring, even - that's the thing about life on a ringworld, barren and detached even 24 years of human colonization after the eradication of Flood remnants and, consequently, all life from these once lovingly-cultivated oases of biodiversity from across the galaxy. Its students jump at a chance for some teenage rebellion at a party away from the lovingly omnipresent supervision of F.I.L.S.S., and to meet the legendarily reclusive students from the colony's enigmatic military school. They get a bit more excitement than they bargained for.

Summary
"All that to say, it wasn't totally new territory for Agent Hawaii to be the first Agent chosen for implantation. One thing she is far from first in is the rankings, but they have no bearing on implantation order. Considering how picky the Project has to be about neural compatibility in order to get AI-human pairings who don't end up squealing on the floor from feedback loops or sensory input beyond comprehension, it really wouldn't be possible to pay attention to rankings."
An AU in which the Blood Gulch Crew are bottom-of-the-rankings Freelancers who happen to be the Agents chosen for compatibility with the AI fragments. In this installment, Agent Hawaii and Agent Texas go for Hawaii's first simulated battle training since her implantation and things go FUBAR.

Summary
There comes a time in a man's life that he has to choose. He can throw himself into chasing the echo of the person who can't really be gone, because they never said goodbye, who must be them because there's no closer simulacrum and they can't really be gone. Or he can be the one to say goodbye, and dedicate himself instead to being present for his child who's had too much put on their young shoulders. We've heard the one about Dr. Leonard Church already. It's a good tragedy, because it was so easily preventable by just, y'know, not fucking doing that, yet inevitable because he would, unfortunately, always fucking do that. Lavernius Tucker's story is looser. He's flexible like that, bow-chicka-bow-wow. So maybe he looks at this choice and says, "baby, get you a man who can do both".

Summary
A loud groan shook Tucker from his thoughts. Church walked across Tucker’s folded arms, his head thrown back, covered by his hands. Tucker was struck with the image of light blue armor, doing the same exacerbated walk across the base back in Blood Gulch. What had he said then? ‘Caboose, if you touch the microwave one more time I swear to god I will—“
In a very similar tone to Tucker’s memory, Church announced, “Just tell me what happened between you and the orange asshole so we can move on.”
“I slept with him.” Tucker admitted.
“See was that so—“ Church’s rant cut short, his hand still up in the air with that annoying point he did when he knew he was right. “You what?”

in 2069 AD, the region once known as the United States of America is a world of complex lore and political intrigue that our heroine doesn't really care about because she's too busy trying to find estrogen in the post-apocalyptic Midwest.

Summary
"A shloka is a 32-syllable verse, broken into hemistitches— that's 16— or quarters— eight. The first one— that we know of— was written by a sage. And what did he write about?" Edward pauses, but not long enough to leave room for an answer he'd likely find inadequate. "It was about a man who took a leisurely stroll by the river, and what did he find there? A crane! What's so special about the crane, you ask? Well, I'll tell you. It's shot dead in front of him. Imagine that. A perfect verse in rhyme and rhythm, all for the death of a crane."
"What..." he continues, slowing himself down to an unsettling degree, "...Is so special, about a bird?"
