Lux and Ezreal were cramped in an apartment that could barely hold themselves, and Zeri was working internationally. That meant that the only logical option was…

Ekko was always convinced he would become a sailor and make the sea his home. A dream that died the moment his mother drowned on a voyage, lost to storm-tossed waves. He now lives on the edge of Zaun, operating the little lighthouse that guides ships home. That was the most he would ever love the water. That was the closest he would get to the sea.

Thin, deep cuts marred the left side of her face, trailing down her cheek like claw marks. Her abdomen had several gashes, some shallow, some deeper, sluggishly weeping crimson. But it was her lower half that stopped him cold.
He had expected legs.
Instead, where her hips should have met thighs, her skin shifted, darkening into smooth, iridescent scales. A deep blue that shimmered in the moonlight, reflecting shades of violet and silver with every breath she took. Long, powerful, unnatural. A tail.

Once, for a brief period of time, Ekko had a home and a family. Still luckier than some in the lanes of Zaun, those good days came to an end, and ever since he has been working tirelessly as a leader at the Firelights Community Centre. Between two jobs, online courses, and always taking on more and more and more and more, Ekko kept himself going for everyone other than himself... until a quiet little girl with a bad blue dye job started showing up to one of his after-school clubs and Ekko began to remember the difference between living and just surviving.
