He leaned in, resting his forehead against Katsuki’s. “Did you think I wanted this?”
“I didn’t think you wanted anything.”
Tears blurred his vision. They fell, hot and shameful, landing on Katsuki’s chest, right over the scarred name.
“I didn’t want this,” Izuku choked out, the words pushing past a sob. “I wanted you. All that time. I was just… afraid.”
Izuku finds out Katsuki has been carving his name into his skin. He is far from happy.

Summary
At twenty-seven, Izuku Midoriya’s dream of becoming a hero was long behind him. Quirkless and settled into life as a teacher, he’s never imagined facing the end. Until a relentless illness confines him to a hospital bed. At first, family and friends all come to visit. But, eventually, life moves on. Izuku doesn’t resent them, he’s learning to accept being left behind.
But, then Katsuki Bakugo comes back, not as a memory or a dream, but in person—and suddenly, Izuku realizes that hope isn’t done with him yet.
