Peter is still fussing with his shirt, mentally rehearsing the usual pleasantries, when he turns the corner—and stops dead. The anxious couple he expected to be perched on the edge of the battered sofa is nowhere to be found. Instead, Tony Stark is draped in one of the office chairs, dressed in a pristine white suit and shades, as if he’s stepped straight off the pages of a fashion magazine.
“Ah, Peter, there you are,” Mrs. Williams says, smiling at him from behind her desk. “This here is Mr. Stark,” she explains, like that isn’t blatantly obvious. Like Tony Stark is just any other parent. “He’s here to visit you.”
