    Summary

Fem!Kirk/Spock t'hy'la AU, written because I need Spirk fluff in my life, and I think gender bending in this case challenges restrictive notions and representations surrounding femininity. Truly, it was written because I wanted a vehicle to assert that Fem!Kirk is named Jemima.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Amanda softly whispered under her breath, “He’s at that very special age when a boy has only one thing on his mind.”

“Mother, I am Vulcan in my precepts.” Spock responded, feet ahead of them, “I assure you at no point in my existence have I ever considered homicide.”

Winona blurted, “Are you sure he’s Vulcan?”

The ambassador’s voice was emotionless as he replied, “My son is as Vulcan as the Forge, Lieutenant.”

As the Vulcan Ambassador to Earth swept from the room, following in the footsteps of his son, Chris spoke, “Brass ones, Winnie.”

“I hate to disappoint you, Jim,” Spock says. “But Vulcans do not join Starfleet.”

    Part III: Starfleet

    They join Starfleet, of course.

    Summary

The one night stand Jim Kirk has with the Vulcan passing through Riverside is a welcome break from the monotony. It's good, very good, but so fucking weird Jim's sure he's never gonna forget it. He's not quite expecting to run into Spock again in San Francisco. A second one night stand turns into a weekend, turns into a lot of weekends, turns into Bones joking that he's living half his week at Spock's apartment.

But! But, and this is very important: they're not dating.

What also turns out to be important is Spock's job, which Jim never bothered getting the details of. Starfleet Officer and a bartender-slash-bouncer? That's fine. Starfleet Academy Instructor and cadet? ...Less fine.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Leonard has moved past not wanting to know. He just blatantly does not know. He refuses to. Ignorance is bliss, as they say, and Leonard plans to keep said ignorance by hook or by crook.

Leonard, for his part, wonders at the collective stupidity of a Vulcan and the man who hacked Starfleet just so he could get his preferred room assignment. Their combined IQ’d be something ridiculous but Leonard’s willing to bet that their collective emotional quotient is roughly about two.

"Can't trust him. He misses her too much."

"And you don't?" she queried with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm better at it. I've been missing Rose Tyler for centuries now. He's barely made it a few years and is already starting to crack."

    Summary

Jim's five the first time he coughs up a flower. Years later, he'll think that it was a long time coming.

For those who aren't aware (because I'm not sure how common the Hanahaki trope is): Hanahaki is a fictional disease that entails flowers blooming in a character's stomach and/or lungs as the result of unrequited love. Typically, the character either finds love that is requited or succumbs to the disease and DIES.

This is Hanahaki with a twist.

    Bookmarker's Notes

It’s probably the soup talking, but for a man living in a haunted house, Jim would say he’s doing pretty well.

No bumps in the night, no ghostly apparitions (febrile visions notwithstanding), no running off on his own to play in the cornfields. If it weren’t for the fever and last night’s breakdown, he’d say he’s doing spectacularly even.

Of course, that was before he started coughing up teeth.
