Summary
Osamu and Rin have been dating for years, ever since the very beginning of high school, when Rin walked into the gym, looked at Osamu, and said the words that were scrawled across his right forearm. Still, Osamu is fairly certain that he and Rin, for all that they love and are in love with each other, have never been able to forget about the other set of words on the both of them: printed in a beautiful, small scrawl across the back of his left shoulder and Rin’s right forearm.
Eventually, Osamu had kind of given up hope that he and Rin would ever actually meet their other soulmate— that is, of course, until Akaashi Keiji arrives at his onigiri stand at the start of the Black Jackals versus Schweiden Alders game that Atsumu had been begging him to come to for months, looks up at him, smiles, and says, “Onigiri Miya is very good,” and Osamu had thought, finally. Finally.
But, well. Akaashi Keiji isn’t at all like he expected. He’s cagey and awkward and seems terrified when Osamu says soulmate words that must be written somewhere on his body and—
Well. And Akaashi Keiji is married. So there’s that too.

However, when a case falls into his lap that dredges up past mistakes Steve's life starts to veer off course- in a good way. Probably.

Summary
Steve Rogers is the son of deceased former American President Joseph G. Rogers and current American President Sarah Rogers. His step-father, Harold Barton, is a well respected long-time senator, and his step-brother Clint is the White House's Chief of Staff, even though he seems to prefer practicing archery more than actually pursuing his political career. The world expects Steve to follow in the footsteps of his family members, but he's fairly certain the last thing he wants to spend the rest of his life doing is politics.
However, when Steve’s life becomes intertwined with that of James “Bucky” Barnes-- the son of a Romanian mother and a Russian father, a mysterious man with questionable motives who just so happens to be engaged to a Senator who’s twice his age-- every carefully structured element of Steve's life starts to fall apart.

Shane lifts one eyelid again to look at Rozanov. His eyes are red-rimmed. Like he’s been crying. “Why…why aren’t you in Boston?”
Rozanov’s brow furrows. “Why would I be in Boston?”
“You, you’re captain. Raiders. Boston.”
The room is silent except for the beeping of monitors.
In 2023, Shane takes a bad hit on the ice. When he wakes up, the last thing he remembers is a tuna melt.

Summary
“Come on,” Comeau says. “Are we all just supposed to pretend it's normal that you’re still playing house with Ilya Rozanov?”
“Gil—” J.J. says, but Shane doesn’t want him to finish that sentence, to pull Comeau gently off the ledge he’s steering himself toward. Shane wants to push him, kicking and screaming, to make them say it to his fucking face. That after all this time, they still hate him for the heinous crime of falling in love.
“We’ve been married for two years,” Shane says. “I’m not sure that qualifies as playing house. I mean, it’s longer than you were with your first wife, isn’t it?”
Or: Shane reunites with his former teammates at J.J.'s bachelor party. He's finally ready to say (and maybe punch) his piece.

In late 2012 when Shane has a meltdown and frantically tells them to call Lily, for the first time Yuna’s ever witnessed, Shane is coaxed out of one of them instead of just suffering through until the exhaustion wins out instead—and all by some mysterious, apparently very well attuned to Shane, 'Lily'.
She hadn’t meant to see the number before she’d pressed it and fumbled the phone up to Shane’s ear. It was simply a byproduct of the situation, something Shane had asked for her to do.
…Memorizing it and then texting that number to thank Lily for their help was not something she’d been asked to do. But she worries so much about Shane, and Lily is a reassurance. Not a pry for details but the simple, verifiable confirmation: he’s okay.
Lily, on the other hand, very much enjoys being able to make oddly specific 'your mother' jokes to Shane much more often now. (And maybe the whole family piece of it, too.)
