After failing his latest psych evaluation, Agent Stone finds himself pulled from almost a decade in the international field and placed on domestic babysitting duty for an eccentric scientist who makes it very clear that Stone could either walk away right now or else quit in a bodybag. Well, Stone has never been a quitter and what begins as a war of attrition over some HR forms slowly morphs into a functional(?) working relationship and the beginnings of a deeply unprofessional crush on his boss. That is, right up until the government comes up with a plan B to get rid of them both.

Summary
A rogue sect of AVALANCHE is taking Rufus Shinra's money and squandering it. The Turks are sent out to infiltrate and radicalize -- but there's a catch. They only invite couples out to their commune. Reno & Rude have to pretend they're an item in order to infiltrate, which leads them out into a perfect island paradise where they have to act out having emotions for each other (and pretend that they really *don't*, so as to not make it weird).

Phoenix leaves dozens of voicemails during Edgeworth's absence, thinking they would never be heard. Roughly a month after the return to Los Angeles, and three weeks of radio silence between the two, Phoenix makes the trek to the prosecutor's house one rainy evening for a discussion regarding his disappearance. Unbeknownst to him, Miles has some questions for him, as well.

Phoenix looks down at the pamphlet and its big, bold letters on the front and immediately sees that he's wrong. Couples Spirit Bonding Retreat!

What the hell did Maya sign them up for?

Miles knew better than to try and contact Phoenix. His disbarment gave their friendship such a sharp edge that it was near impossible to even get close.
However, Miles couldn’t just ignore his job. A part of him wanted to get closer to Phoenix, because of course disbarment didn’t do anything to the profound love he had for the man. It actually just made him want a relationship more.
(Or, Miles staying at Phoenix’s house for “job related purposes”, and trying to express his care and love for Phoenix)
